on the other hand, without a credible SAF, i dun think foreigners would feel safe to come also.Originally posted by TWE:Only pro government pple will go , why because saf ony pay you such a meagre sum of salary in return for such a long time and effort to train to protect the mass of foreign talent who is on our soil snatching our jobs and earning top dollars .

My answer is NO.Originally posted by the_unknown:on the other hand, without a credible SAF, i dun think foreigners would feel safe to come also.
Anyway, i believe that whether one is pro/anti govt, only one thing can affect his decision : Is this country worth defending?
There are spies everywhere in SAF lah. They are there to watch out for troublemakers who try to stir up ill feelings and get everyone to do something on a mass scale.Originally posted by carlsonxjd:im thinkin if somehow 10thousand guy get tgt

why bother about country and glory? what you're defending are your family members and friends.Originally posted by the_unknown:on the other hand, without a credible SAF, i dun think foreigners would feel safe to come also.

nah i can't be bothered about that. Just that without money needed to settle in a foreign country, a better choice would be to defend the current one.Originally posted by vito_corleone:why bother about country and glory? what you're defending are your family members and friends.
same!!Originally posted by freedom4ever:My answer is NO.

I see I seeOriginally posted by Gedanken:If I'd answered this question before doing NS, it would have been no. After NS, it would be yes.
It's got absolutely nothing to do with whether the country or the government is worth serving - those here who know me know that I've left and shaken the dust off my feet.
My reason's a lot more simple than that. Being the baddest thing in sight was a heady experience for a nineteen-year-old, especially for one who hadn't done much of note up till then. It's set the path for the past 16 years, and it's kept any challenge from getting the better of me during all that time. Hell, if I had to do it all over again, country notwithstanding, I honestly don't know how hard I'd fight it.
