Does Anyone actually missed their NS days?

The only days i missed during my NS were the days when I wasn't there.
Oh, miss ORD day also.
Otherwise, nothing else. -
i do missed those slacking days in the army. but when guard duty come to my mind, i think otherwise .

i don't hate the army, nor my experience, and i understand it's importance. but i still feel it has been a waste of time in my life. and no, i don't think it's fun to sit around and chat about NS days.

actually i used to hate NS too when i was a recruit. but after i POP, i suddenly becomes very garang and takes NS positively.
sigh... sure missed those crazy days.

I guess at the end of the day, it is all up to the individual. Love it, hate it, want to be on, want to switch off...........in the end, you will still need to serve your two years...unless of course you want to break your leg. So might as well go in, try to know people, perharps learn something you will never learn in civilian life, make friends, and ORD with fond memories of those days. For me, surprisingly I became much more on-the-ball during reservist. Well I guess it is because I take it as a good break from work, and also that everyone needs to work fast in order to complete the tasks given.
It is quite an oxy-moron I agree.
But well I do miss NS to a certain extent. Care-free days, with a bit of pocket money, roof over my head, and free uniform. As I was in the combat side I could not stay out, but that also means using much less money. That was the time that I led a worry-free life. Now it is so different. -
Do I miss NS? No. I've gone on to bigger and better things that simply keep me too busy to miss it.
That said, it was a blast while it lasted, and I still do keep close contact with the lads. IMHO it's one of those things with a limited lifespan - fun for a couple of years, but then it's time to go do something else.
