seeing WOs conduct PTs like ur sec sch discipline master.
organise activities like ur excursion teachers. -
depends on the vocation you sign on to.
commanding men, conducting training, handling men, staffing paper, taking charge of admin, managing logistics, organising events, planning, conducting ops.... are just the possibilities. -

be clear minded and firm when u think u want to sign on the dotted line. dont be sway and brain washed abt an organisation when u havent even really experience outside working world. sign on even after u ord not too late.
ever heard from a reservist rsm that his old nsf mate is now a regular MAJ recently when he was a then CPL (NS) when they orded 7 yrs ago. -
do think carefully....
don't sign on because of the monetary incentive because it will not last you through the times where the SAF throws it's s*** at you.
sign on because you desire to lead this kind of life and want to experience a job that is not as routine as any office or desk bound job. that kind of passion would normally last you longer in the Army and u'll be less of a crappy superior this way.
And signing on as a spec or Officer, technical, combat or cbt support roles will entail different areas of work... strongly advise you to talk to any Army recruitment officers... better still if you've not enlisted, wait till you get a flavour of SAF before commiting the next 6 to 10 years of your life/youth

depending on what unit you're in.
at my unit, you can be a warrant officer and you're still out there running around like the lower ranks. because if you don't, you'll get complained by us. -
I know of one particular Medic Regular,a 1SGT, slack whole day one. Always try to skive when possible, work hard in front of superiors, then behind them always try to put cigarretes in their butt. Talk very big, makes empty promises and never offers help to juniors. Now waiting to break contract.
I know another particular Medic Regular, a 2SGT female, works hard in front of bosses, have a BIG mouth, b!tches around about everybody but acts good in front of them, hold grudges, can never understand people, behaves like a child, a total mishap until was kicked away to another unit presumably due to unworthiness.
(ps. both of them are married to each other and what a match made in HELL)
I know of another Medic Regular, a 2SGT Guardsman, garang fella, likes to sleep at every available opportunity, but always on the ball, believes so strongly in his principles that nearly get charged for supposedly being rude to a WO. Like to bend rules and make his own rules, and did I mentioned that he like to sleep often?
I know of another Medic Regular, a SSG, been a SSG for more then 20 years for God knows what reason, recently being booted from Wing Sergearnt Major post based on his incompetence (it was made known very clearly to everybody), favouritism is his cup of tea, biasness is his cup of coffee (he spilled coffee in the lift at camp the other day and had the cheek to post a note telling a Duty personnel to clean up for him), walks around like he own the world and going to be kick-out of Army quite soon.
Of course there are the more good examples of model regulars..
Just one to point out the bad apples here..

Oh , Regulars only have to take out SOPs for the activities and assign roles to their soldiers to perform them in their own way.
Of coz SOP and actually performing them have variations. Which is why they are there in the 1st place. Making sure that people do the ACTing the impromptu way. -
