Also now the parents can visit the camp on enlistment day, unlike the past where parents sent their children to CMPB only.

last time bmt is parents send their kids to CMPB .. den the kids take 5 tonner to jetty .. den into tekong ... now its different .. now u go straight to pasir ris int with ur parents n board the fast craft with ur parents too .. n ur parents will spend half a dae there with u .. at leats u get to enjoy a meal with ur parents before u don c them for the next 2 weeks .....

Because Confinement is cut short since Enlistment days are now limited to end of weeks.
This is mainly because of budget.
Per enlistee is entitled 2 ppl to come.
But everytime they always bring 5-6-7 ppl, grandma, grandpa, girlfriend, etc etc.
SAF got to pay $7.5 per person for ferry and $3.5 per person for SMRT Bus.
When BMTC tried to be strict on the 2-ppl rule, the next thing they got is a wave of complains like, "Grandma old already travel all the way to Pasir Ris, then not allowed to board SMRT Bus, how can you do that?" -

last time got recruits caught hanky-panky in the toilet with their gf. tats y during my parent visiting day, we were not allowed to go up the bunk.

becos SAF realised;
1) there's no point putting up a show for the parent.. just cost too much and waste time
2) cant wait to tekan recruit from day 1
3) SFI food still just too bad no matter what -
