what will happen if one day SAF revert back to NSF cooks?

SFI contract expires n SAF decides to cut cost n go back to the good old days where NSF cooks will cook for us army guys in the cook house...
good idea?
n not only that, SAF decides to lay off those camp cleaners, sweepers etc.
Then some people will be vocationed just to clean toilets, offices and sweep the camp area in camp.
Then e mart auntie is now replaced by NSF cashier

Then like this, with the cost cut, SAF might increase the NSF allowances -

If NSF does the cooking again, it will be like the good ol days. Soldiers get to eat all the worms and sand embedded inside them veggies, rice will be under cooked [insufficient water] meat will be tough to chew and fishes will stink, as most of them fishes ain't that fresh.
Fruits, hmm.... so so.
NSF soldiers will get to experience how food tasted during the early years of NSF. There will be NSF GD men [General Duty] to do daily chores like throwing rubbish, sweeping the camp etc. [These GD men are actually non designated NSF men who cannot fit into any vocation due to their inability to master any vocation]. Those were the days .... and i luv the food!!!!!!!! -

If revert back, the canteen will have good business.
Different cook house, different head cooks, depends on the head cooks, even if outsource, food come out bad no one will want to eat also. Like my cook house last time, head cook is an Indian, no offense to Indians but every dish that come out, no matter how authentic the Chinese, western food name, all taste like Indian food, in the end all go canteen stall to eat. -

I disagree - dispensing with contractors mean that there is less of an incentive to cut costs on the part of the contractors. Of course the Cooks must be trained properly and there must be a qualiied chef type to update the menu constantly.
Oh, and the SAF might want to make the Cook's course a little easier. Last I heard, the SAF cooking course is the hardest course in the army and no one has ever passed it!

During BMT, all recruits are taught how to cook.
So after first 2 weeks or so... they cook their own meals.
Now, you can't really complain what you cook for yourselves right?

If I'm not wrong, Navy still has Cook-vocationalists and some of these are NSFs. Any Navy guys care to comment on the quality of shipboard food?
Better or worse than SFI? -
