Anyone here wears army boots after ORD?

Wear it like normal shoes. Not army style with gators. that means your long pants will cover the top part of the boots so the boots look like normal shoes.
Btw, I do that. Anyone else? -

When I need ankle protection... Not fun having sprained your ankle at least 3 times during BMT -
I was so enthralled when I moved house recently and found the lost 2 pairs of full leather saf boots.
Means I don't have to wear the goretex ones which I find hard to season. -
if u hear people on the streets dragging their shoes with that familiar dragging boots sound, ya they are most definitely wearing army boots.

I used to wear my boots to in winter during my uni days in UK. Pretty good to keep warm.

Best feet cover during rainy days. Confirm socks dry. Only applicable to the old leather ones, never tried the goretex ones and dun want to.

I'm using them, and like them just fine. Btw, I war them almost everyday, as work shoes with tie and long sleeved shirt. you won't be able to tell them between formal shoes and boots unless you stare at my shoes. and no idiot goes down to stare at your shoes. *grin* saved me lotsa money. and if I have to walk over uneven ground, no prob with those boots of mine. -

If you are wearing long sleeve shirt and tie, then Gore-tex footwear should suit just fine. i confirm wear to school... Cuz me going on to poly... Will wear it to class... combat boots are good... I lost 2 of my boots that is issued to me... LEather somemore but i dun mind cuz super hard to season... I prefer goretex... More comfy..

I can't trust the all-leather items to even keep my feet dry though. as soon as they get moist, even with just perspiration, the ankle guards cut up my feet. -

They are just to make the boots more airy than the all leather ones. -

You want to season the leather boots I have a very easy way... (althought I don't wear leather). Just twist and turn the leather for a while. Stretch it. you'll realise it is already "seasoned" after a few days.
But I still prefer my goretex Goretex don't need to season, and keeps my feet dry. lol. I war it 80% of the time. Office wear, Jeans, blah blah blah.
but note of caution to those who do the same thing like me..... Don't EVER EVER cross your legs when sitting. I realised that the boots are super visible and I ended up looking like an idiot on the MRT -
If you wear army boots, make sure to tie the laces with a nice, big, bow-tie.

I have also never worn the Goretex boots before... but from various feedback, the reponse are generally negative. Also, quite often during my ICTs active NS men would asked to exchange their Goretex boots with my old style boots...
