Does your unit allow u to wear own shoes for PT?

your own track shoes for PT, such as the latest adidas or nike shoe, or some fancy expensive oasics, assuming u don't like to wear the obiang cheapo emart brooks or NB shoes.
Coz i have seen regulars wearing them before.
Have you worn before? is it allowed? -
only during IPPT, so you can feel more 'confident'. but we all know why.

hmmm, got few regulars wear own shoes during live runs....
but when div comd runs also... rsm will make sure everyone wears the standard shoes...

depends on unit regimentation. some csm/rsm/sgt major may be quite strict on footwear when it comes to unit activities.
in most general cases it's ok to wear your own footwear as long as it's not too 'eye-catching'... i'm sure you won't like unwanted attention on you because of your running shoes.
in any case, most nsfs are fine with brooks/NB... afterall it's only for 2 years ma -

But we wore our NB shoes for street soccer after PT. -

i actually threw away my shoes in taiwan on return... becos too bulky...
back to singapore.. just buy a new pair...

i think in most units all are allowed to wear their own sports shoes, perhaps with the exception on trainees. so trainees in schools will also need to wear the standard shoes.

hmmm in bmt, din really ask.
in sispec, we are actually encouraged to bring our own running shoes rather than using the NB or Brooks shoes.
i have to buy the running shorts instead of admin short for the first time in sispec -
even during my BMT, there is no restriction on PT shoe....

IMHO, good shoes doesn't necessary make a good runner and a good runner doesn't need good shoes to run well..

my rsm wanted us to buy Asics....maybe cos we always have this shoe talk thingy every few months last time bcos of him.....
missed my rsm...
so practical...
no need wear head dress...
no need wear standard shoes
no need wear SAF boots(can get own one..)
so flexible..
