do you really think regulars will be bothered about the cars NSFs drives??Originally posted by LetterboxMind:It's not a question of taking up commanders' parking lots.
It's the idea that they can't stand seeing an NSF driving a more expensive car than them.
A lot of regulars are like that. Parent's car? If you can drive to camp daily, it's gotta be a car that was bought for your own use. And some people tend to grow green eyes.Originally posted by madcampus:do you really think regulars will be bothered about the cars NSFs drives??
1) NSF's allowance can hardly pay the monthly installment of car loan.
2) Almost all NSF's driven cars are parent's or siblings one.
The above 2 points are undisputed already. What more do anyone wanna be bothered about who drives what car? Even reservists doing their ICTs will leave their cars with their family. They just take cab down to camp or family members send them down and take the car back home. No big issue here.
I think it's just those lowly ranked NSFs inferior complex that think otherwise - "oh my rank is low, so i'll drive my daddy's 7 series to camp tomorrow since he's on overseas trip."
PS. i'm just a civilian with a car who have done ICTs.
agree. cuz there was a coc in my camp. and the outgoing co stand at the jeep, slowly waving ppl off, in the middle of the route to the gate. i was rushing somewhere and the jeep moved so slowly, so i jus tailed behind. my csm obviously wasn't happy, turned around and commented to one of the man that im ah sia kia.Originally posted by LazerLordz:A lot of regulars are like that. turn out that the man my csm talked to was my fren and he told me. there was once i did duty with my csm, he asked how's my car. using what tyre. everything i tell him, he say like fark. even commented that toyota sucks, toyo tyres sucks bla bla bla. honda good, michellin power! bla bla bla.(he drives a honda stream with michellin tyres)
Precisely. I was referring to NSFs who drove in daily.Originally posted by LazerLordz:A lot of regulars are like that. Parent's car? If you can drive to camp daily, it's gotta be a car that was bought for your own use. And some people tend to grow green eyes.
Correct. Some of the arrogant ones are those who got to drive their parents' car once in a while, and they'd be showing off on those days.Originally posted by LetterboxMind:Precisely. I was referring to NSFs who drove in daily.
These are the ones who come from rich families, who drove the 'spare' mercedes at home or had their very own car.
And it's precisely these admin NSFs who draw a couple of hundreds a month as allowance, but yet drive in with expensive cars, that irk some regulars.
Again, not all regulars are like that. I'm just saying in my case, i've met some who obviously "buay gian" when their men got better rides.
Some of these NSFs can be split between 2 camps. Some are obviously hao lian, and some humble. Actually, i've met mostly humble folks who honestly don't see why they should take public transport everyday when they can drive their own cars to camp.
Rp wont ask u for driving licenseOriginally posted by keropoking:i just got my driving license last month and i would like to drive to camp
