Taking A level during NS

Hi I'm just enlisted 3 months ago and has finally POP'ed last week. I passed my A level at AO level, meaning the result is too atrocious to get me into local universities, though I'm unable to defer my NS to redo the papers in my jc. I'm thinking of retaking as private candidate this year since the syllabus is going to be changed when I ORD and things will be much harder(I'll have to learn one more subject). If I register for the papers, will mindef allow me to take leave off to do the papers or even study for them?

are you still gonna be a trainee? or are you gonna be posted to somewhere as permstaff?
if trainee, then you won't be allowed to take offs or leaves but if permstaff, you got to see the system at your new camp.
there was 1 dude from my branch, keep using 'studying for As' as an excuse to siam things which made everyone pissed.
one more thing to note is that even if you superior shows support or anything positive to you about your studies, don't expect any help from them. -

Try to do so after your vocational course. -

I'm still waiting for my posting which should be out in the next few days.
Since I failed my ippt(fail SBJ by 9cm), I'm not going to command schools but definitely to a combat vocation. I heard when posted to unit, you will be trainee for only the first three months? Not planning to downgrade myself to non-combat vocation too.
Whether I get day off or taking my own leave to take the papers doesn't matter so much, I just want to go out and take the exams. What happens if I am to go for overseas exercise at the end of the year? -

service vocation like clerk,storeman,driver n tech are vocations which u haf enuff time to study -
i didnt do well for my a levels in 05
didnt retake
just keep reapplying for the local u's
while searching for other options
one of my platoonmates is retaking this year
hes gonna get downgraded hence he will have more free time then us
sometimes ck to downgrade looks so appealing -
