in any case the CDO stilleto (or however you call it) is sharp on both sides. very useful for cutting throats. This is in line with the CDOs use of sneaking up from the enemies' behind and killing them 'assasin' style.

While banonet is different, it need to be a serve as a general knife also thus the design is different.
Kukri is the best work knofe, different part is design for different purpose, hammer, cutting, chopping .... etc. -
Unless your are a knife thrower in a performing circus.Do not try throwing a knife or even a stilleto while trying to kill ,it just wont work.It only work best in a Hollywood action movie.

At the end of the day, it's a tool, as much as a changkul or an L-torch is. No big deal unless you're a glory hound, and there's precious little space for that at Hendon. -

If i'm not mistaken one of the times the stiletto is drawn out for use is during the red beret presentation, when one finally passes out as a member of the cdo formation.
And I agree that the stiletto is just a tool of the trade, just like how a bayonet is impt to a rifleman.
And I would like to see anyone throwing a bayonet or knife around in battle and actually being spot on in killing the oppressor. That one would really deserve a medal. haha. -

And FYI to everyone.. STILETTO IS NOT FOR SALE IN SG. You are breaking the law if you purchase it privately. Same goes with thantos, gravity knives, flick knives and bayonets (foreign bayonets like American M9 bayonet included) all not allowed for sale in SG)

For a do-it-all knife the cheapest is the Tomahawk brand I think. Although I don't own one, I have held it and it feels pretty balanced to me. (some knives are blade-heavy, so you cannot thrust and slice, only stab.. think RAMBO)

Knock out people.... I don't think it's possible to "learn" it per se. It comes with experience.. more of an intuition that "he's off-balance now, can't block, hit him hard". Your signature put "Ex-TKD". ). I can't describe to you how I know whther they are balanced or not although all are standing with 2 feet planted firmly on the ground. somehow the brain will just take in everything and process it for you.
the fella who sustained a concussion was hit by me once only. I used the Jeet Kune Do Lead Punch to hit him once on the chin and that was it.

Depends on your size... you can't say that one knife fits all.. look at your height and weight and strength first.
And before going to fight with a knife makes sure you know how to use the knife as a weapon. Any idiot can use a stick as a weapon but a knife is much harder, and you can even lose your grip on the knife.
Learn to switch between the stabbing hold and the thrusting hold fast. I do by twirling the knife on an axis slightly.
Aiyah... talk talk no use one lah.. must show then understand... Go and learn from some pro who will teach you lah.. I talk so much I doubt you really understand what I am trying to say.. and I can't really put down what's in my head down into words too. Like people like to say, NPNT. -

It's a tool. It makes a hole in someone you don't have much particular reason to like. It doesn't have to be perfectly weighted, John-Woo-approved, ergonomic or hypoallergenic. -

In this case, I'd say a lightsaber would lethal and legal to carry.
You get a full length blade and a fraction of the weight, cuts through flesh like hot knife thru butter, and can always lie that its just a torchlight.

why are folding knifes with a locking device banned?
The SAF new issued knife has a locking device but i hear it's banned or something also or the recruits cant use....why? -

Locking device not allowed because a proper locking knife can be almost the same size as a non-folding knife, and can fight with almost same efficiency, but it also CAN BE CONCEALED because it can.. fold into half, while normal knife cannot.
Those swiss army knives, can fold into half, so is concealed, but you think you can kill anyone with that? lol.. the blade will fold inwards into your fingers the moment you stab.. you end up cutting your fingers off instead. *ouch* -
True. But its possible to cause serious injury without hurting the fingers. Dunno how to describe..., its like the blade is on the outside of ur fist (grabbing the jackknife hilt), and blade pointing outwards. The slashing motion would be sufficient to cause grievous hurt.
Any object, when intended to be a weapon, will become a weapon despite is harmless origin. Glass bottles weren't made as weapons but can become one. -
