[Refer] BMT POP Posting Orders FAQ

Hi guys, I Got posted to HQ ADOC as a driver, and they ask me to report in no.4 and not to bring anything but PT kit and check if my unit is stay in or out..

so do i only just report in no.4 and bring my pt kit or bring stuffs for stay-in just incase?

You are posted to ur unit and from there, your unit will schedule u for driving courses.

this question nv fail to come out, if u bother to read thru, it depends on wher u go, rather than wad vocation

more imptly, most are stay in.

for ammo tech, if you get posted to SAF ammo command or it's various depots, all confirmed stay-out.

yeah mostly stay out.. actually to my knowledge all ammo techs are stay out unless duty...

hi, i have a friend with a problem i hope someone can help with here..

my friend had wanted to sign on to be Air Force pilot, and has gone through all the relevant tests and signed some forms with Air Force. The requirement is that he gets posted to OCS after BMT. Unfortunately, he was posted to a certain SIR after he was told that he was within 8.01% - 8.5% of the top cohort, just outside of the top 8% to be eligible for OCS. his OC in his new unit has refused to help in appealing as he wants my friend to be his signaller (OC Signaller). are there any other ways that he can send in an appeal to be considered for OCS, so that he can qualify for Air Force?

Just paperwork etc lo. Clerk job regardless where also administrative work.

thats what i thought too, but apparently they told my friend that his sign-on application will be accepted only after he gets posted to OCS after BMT.. weird.. any way to appeal postings?

Your friend will have to be able to get into OCS based on his own merit, so if his PC's review states that he doesn't have the making of an officer, he can't go into OCS, and hence his application will not be approved..

can i ask what is the highest rank that u can get if your vocation is Air Ops Spec? 3SG? (for NSF)

For all NSF rank for spec is up to 3SG only. Internal promotion up to 2SG is possible in some units i believe but you don't get the pay so to me its still 3SG

Yep you are right.It is called a local promotion(L/2SG).Usually specs can get up to 2SG if they are assigned to be platoon sergeants and go for the the PS course.The thing about local promotion is that your 2SG rank is only recognized within your unit and while you are still serving...if you go to another camp or ORD,you will go back to 3SG.

Best part is,you still only get a 3SG pay but you got to do BOS duty like any other regular 2SGs!!!Lol!

oh. but is the promotion straight from private to 3SG? like after completing the course u get 3SG rank straight? or must promote to LCP, CPL then 3SG?

Combat specs will go from PTE -> the new specialist training rank -> 3SG

Logistic specs will go from PTE -> CPL -> 3SG (after 1 yr service and pass IPPT for those required)

Should be a clerical sort of job bah cos airforce dun really do much ground recee etc. So song, kanna stayout vocation and still posted to airforce.
