Originally posted by Jimjoker1:I'm actually referring to post-BMT posting, not when you are already in unit. After BMT POP what are the determinants for command courses, vocational courses or just initial posting to a unit while waiting for schedules of further courses/training?
Genius1111 mentions about a small team sorting out SIT test results, etc; what are the implications of this? for ranking and selection of personnel for combat / service / technical courses ?
SIT Test, peer evaluation, commander's feedback, expressing of interest etc determines who goes to command school. The rest are assigned to different vocations base on criteria that noone knows. Only after your vocation is decided, are your names given to ppl like Genius1111 who will do the unit assignment. Eg posting to SIR there is 1SIR, 2SIR etc etc and that is determined by ppl like them.
Are there any posting for police OCT of SCDF OCT in the September BMT POP batches?

How will we know?
dunno. but police/scdf OCT selected from tekong bmt, but dunno which batches have... any ideas? any insiders from cmpb?
"SIT Test, peer evaluation, commander's feedback, expressing of interest etc determines who goes to command school."
who determines this? BMTC or CMPB ?

FFI also included
U should know that MINDEF does not sent us in this forum the posting list nor which units are open and their intakes etc. Alot of times we are just speculating or share experiences and intakes is not something we can really tell.

I am generally a nice guy who will post people closer to their homes. The other clerks also follow this principle quite closely as well. However, it must be noted that people living in the East/Northeast/closer to CBD have limited choices for camps. Also, as I mentioned before, no point living 3 mins away from camp and be treated as dirt for the next 20 months. In addtion, units may have other plans for you as well, and some units do their own internal deployment.
So far I have never dealt with anyone coming from SCDF.
For the CSS units, the posting you all do regardless near or far also no use cos most of them have alot of external camps they attached their ppl to so you can post them near and they get internally posted somewhere far.
Being 'new' to your job, you might bother more about location etc but as time goes by, many people will tend to just get lazy and take the quick way out.

have you all started the camp/unit allocation yet? if so, that means you should have also finished the sorting out of the SIT test / BMT performance ranking results? so personnel selected for command school would have been allocated either SISPEC/OCS posting, right?
Originally posted by Genius1111:Proximity of house to unit is not our first consideration, unfortunately. We attend to urgent requests by units first, followed by checking the strength-to-estab ratio of each unit. Also note that units don't need people from all vocations, so for people in certain vocations, they have no choice but to travel halfway across the country.
Please do not be skeptical of our work ethic.
After CPC posted me to Selarang for OJE and later post me to Jurong saying they made a mistake in OJE posting, requiring my former OC to go all the way to jurong to 'fight' for my transfer back, i have 0 faith in CPC work ethics nor the clerks since they manage to loss my personnel file as well during this mess up transfers.

To jimjoker1, nope, unit assignment has not started. I was not in office today, so I don't know what's the progress of the work done in office.
We'll see whether you still uphold your work ethics so strongly when you are near to ORD and how much of your fellow peers really bother to follow those ethics and how many just take the easy way out and fill in the blanks.

Besides that, you have every right to hate CPC all you want, since you have your own legitimate reasons.
ARC is a nice place to be. Ask any autotech and most will tell u they also dun mind travelling to ARC. Its the best cookhouse of the 5 camps on mainland i have spent my NS life eating. Thinking back i still miss the days in OETI playing marvel Vs capcom, gem fighters etc during break and lunch time...
what is the package in FFI that make it so important for command school?

I won't say its just for command school but combat vocations in general
Originally posted by J101:Genius1111 or anyone!!!!!! is there a hotline for CPC or any contact information (like emails etc)? I would like to submit a letter with regards to my posting. Thanks alot!
I don't think you will have a say in your posting so no point sending a letter.
Only way to change a vocation will be by medical reasons and the only way to change camps can be done internally by units S1 though its unlikely they will bother to entertain such requests.
hey i just got my posting and i have a few questions.
I'm posted to ayer rajah camp to tsaf oeti as auto tech trainee. My questions are
- is it a stay out/ stay in? I heard for the course itself is stay-out but can anyone pls confirm?
- I'm supposed to bring standard saf issued items. What does this include? (LBV, Helmet or anything else?) And why do i need to bring these if its a stay out course? ( They asked me to bring toiletries as well)
- I'm recently diagnosed as allergic to dust and grass. I'm waiting to be medically downgraded to pes C. Will this have any effect on what i'm about to do? Should i remind the MO there?
Any help with these queries would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Congrats, OETI is 1 of the best place to be and you will enjoy it alot. We don't call it Only Eat Talk Idle for no reason :p Autotech A/B/C?
The course is stayout, after that stayin or out depends on your camp since some might require their people to stayin though its quite rare and the majority is stayout.
Just bring yourself and forget about all your tekong items. First day in OETI is more doing admin etc so you mostly need writing materials only. Tues and Fri need bring PT-kit cos its life activity if no change.
Grass should not be an issue if you work in the workshop but dust might be a problem and you might be revocated because of that since a workshop isn't exactly the cleanest place to be. Personally i loved my life as an autotech on the whole but its unlikely you can keep that vocation if you are allergic to dust.
