ARTY Institute, Khatib Camp,
Arty Opr - Gunnery
Called them, say 3 months in camp training, have to stay in :(
then after that...post to where? what is the job scope likes? is this tough...safe, dangerous? I guess need to handle/clean/maintain fire weapons, etc?
Most combat training schools are stayin so thats normal.
As long as you follow instructions, you should be relatively safe.
permanent, approved by my PC during BMT. I also submitted an x-ray report to them, i also have no idea why i got this vocation? =/

Report sick in OETI and go see the MO. Good chance of revocation.
Posting cocking up is super common. Last batch, abt 20% of the A mech all OOC on 1st day of posting.
Ok thank you =).
Thx for the advice and everything. Good day!

Because you are pending downPES, your status is considered normal at the point of posting. If you do get down PES, report sick and you might get revocated.
ok, thanks..
In camp again..so only can book out at weekends, and holidays right?
Was told that need to bring all the BMT stuff in...lucky called them, it was not mentioned in the ePosting...

eposting is generally quite clear stayin or stayout. U didn't understand it i assume :p
Combat units are always stayin.

Since your case is already pending downgrade, i think the MO might just ask you to wait for a confirm status 1st but no harm trying.
Originally posted by jy90:Thanks! If according to you most postings are cocked up, how do you find out if it is cocked up or not?
Just report sick and see the MO if you feel your problem will affect you and do harm to you in that vocation.
Its generally your own initiative to see whether its wrong or not but most manage to pull through for their 2 yrs.
dkcx,
any idea how is service medic training like? and how long is the course?
eposting should be clear, but it wasn't.
Asked me to call, whether need to stayin or not.
Only informed to wear no.4 when report, bring PT kit...and NOT required to bring other stuff issued in BMTC... That's why I called to double checks, if not on the day...everything do not have....sure kena scold upside down...

Medic training should involve the usual learning how to do injections etc as well as all the usual 1st aid stuff. The service medic course is shorter than the combat medic 1 since you don't have the outfield portion of the course so should be about a month or so.
Read the medics FAQ and post there if you have any other queries since medics is not my field of 'expertises' sorry.

Normally such a posting means the 1st day should be stayout since you have the excuse that posting order did not specify you need bring your BMT stuff. Thats the usual way we gauge a stayin or stayout course.
oh ok. cause no one replied me there. so came over here to ask u lol.

Give others some time. Not everyone is 24/7 online and even I am spending 2 hrs on sgf now when i'm on a overseas holiday since posting results is out today and we always get a decent number of queries on this day.
yep yep many many will ask haha

And the size of the rounds means that the loader is the one who usually has the most physical work to do. But usually people in artillery units have a better life as compared to their counterparts in SIR SAR Guards so on and so forth.
Like I said earlier, Kranji camp is very accessible. And it is most definitely a stay in vocation.
Stay in vocation for the next 1 year 9 months of my NS or during the 3 months training?
btw how do i express interest to become a driver for the Primus? i don't have a civi license but i'd like to be one

Can you please briefly describe 2SIR AFV OPR - BX? Operating Bionix in 2SIR? Need to go through a lot of shiong activities with 2SIR riflemen?
Roughly what to expect? thanks.
This is the first time I'm hearing of an SIR taking in armoured vehicle operators, so it's a relatively new thing to me too. But I'll try to answer to the best of my abilities.
Sounds like your new unit is going to be like the other armoured units i.e. armoured infantry. I was from armoured infantry so I guess it's going to be quite similar. When you go in the infantrymen will go for their infantry training, while you will go for your drivers' course (might be at Gedong or some other place). Learn to drive, learn to do some basic maintenance, learn to do something special things with your vehicle etc. Then afterwards, when you complete your course and go back to 2SIR, then you will do combined training with the infantrymen i.e. do all sorts of drills, like how to drive and attack, how to hum ji and drive to escape etc.
On the whole being a driver is much less physically tiring as compared to the infantrymen. You don't need to walk or dismount at all, as you just need to focus on driving. However, being a driver, you have a major responsibility in taking care of the vehicle with your commander, i.e. doing maintenance, taking care of all the equipment, and washing and cleaning. However, taking care of the vehicle is a section effort.
If you go overseas then good luck. Drivers typically have it bad overseas because of the long distances they need to cover.
Also, depending on your new unit, you may or may not be considered as combat personnel. If you are, then you need to clear SOC IPPT Close Combat training ATP all that crap, so yeah.

Stay in throughout. Combat personnel have to stay in.
Go in, find out exactly what you will be doing, and then tell your PC on your first interview with him that you really really really want to be a driver.
You don't need a Class 3 license to drive SAF vehicles. They'll teach you, so no worries there.
