your job is to fog camps and training sites, and control mosquitos population mostly ... you'll also catch live mosquitos to test for malaria, etc ... at all hours of the day ... after ORD you'll become an infantry man ... -

CBRE PNR - CBRD.
I only know its CBRE Defence Group, Chemical, Biological and Radiological Defence (CBRD). What exactly is the 'job scope'?
Do I need to bring anything extra other than the stuff I brought back home from BMT + toiletries/undies? + toiletries/undies

RP in Airforce is not call rp, its call FDS. Want more info just go type fds and plenty of forum will show.
Diff between Airforce Rp and Army Rp?
Army:
- 8 - 5.30pm working hour, after that unit takes over
- couse is 2wk of lectures, no chiong sua
- carry SAR21
- not as shiong as RSAF rp
Airforce:
- Work in shift, 8 am - 8am or work 2 days consecutive. only 8 - 5 is chong pang camp, where the ADA unit will take over.
- Course 3 month of hell week; earthworm, poi, m16 firing, metador, gpmg, p206, saw, platoon living firing, section live firing, fibua, and plenty more of chiong sua. Day and night training plenty.
- Carry M16
- After pass out, ojt. Turn out like drinking coffee. idle till u die. duty time stand until u faint.
- have to be ready for all sort of stuff. blah blah blah. u will knw later on.
- in short, super sian vocation as most of the time will be slack and standing.
- shift duty in mount dismount standby type. differ airbase differ schedule
- after fds course, better hope for posting to AFS, Chong pang or other RSAF but NON FDS unit. life will be so much better.
- ** no such things call weekend/public holiday. if your work falls on that day, then sorry bah. suck thumb

Lastly, for all unit and vocations, new directive for this yr states that every one that is eligible for ippt regardless of education must pass their ippt in their 1st ippt window order to get the cpl rank. otherwise prepare to ord with lcp bah. now on more education level for ranking le. -
Was from ADA previously. Now going backin june to resume my service. Based on what i remember, (my training was back in 2005) you will be reporting to AFS for i think 1 week for basic training... Nothing much there... Just Air Defence concept blah blah blah... that time my operators doesn't even need to stay in... 8 to 5 basically... Wing Commander (ADA) now used to be S3, DAG. After that, depending on your luck, you will be posted to Chong Pang camp or Lim Chu Kang. Those in LCK ah will have a good life... Their weapons are like those super humongous one... Then need a lot of time to set up.. Those in Chong Pang camp one more jialat.. Even though system is easier but you will have many enciks walking around.... so don't try anything funny.
Was from 18DA. So took one batch of operator before. Training phase last for 3 months. Basically u will be learning again Air Defence Knowledge. Air Craft recognition will be drilled into u... U need to recognise the air craft from 1 KM away from various views. Preparation for operations, u will to be well-versed in that cos normally when u prep, the officers are at the mess... hahaha...
Physical wise, get ready for lots of chin ups... An average operator can do abt 17 chin ups... so thats the standard...
Now too much of out field for my guys... Just a pre-summex and summex. Rooftop deployments are quite common... Meaning u carry all the equipment up to the rooftop to deploy... i almost died on that... haha... Manpacking.... Carrying all the equipments and walk for prolong distances... I died on that one... But really nothing much after that... Book out is on Friday evening... My guys booked out at 3.
After your training, you will be attached to the same unit normally and work with your instructors who are usually PCs or 2ICs... Life is really good after that... Dun worry.... Hmmm... But that is in 18DA, in other units in Chong Pang also quite similar... LCK one i not too sure liaoz... have to see the intake...

I got posted to Sembawang Camp as TPT SPVR. I was told in the posting that I am NOT required to bring SAF issued items cept for 11B and PT kit. The thing is, if we are required to stay in for the first 6 weeks, then how can we not bring any saf issued items? Are we supposed to bring civilian clothes to change and sleep in? Toiletries? Or are we allowed to go home on the first reporting day to get our stuff and come back the next day> What exactly do TPT SPVRS need to bring when we report on monday?

Speaking of Gombak, reminds me of the time I turned down a posting to Gombak Base and chose NSDC after finishing my course at OETI. The grapevine said that it would have been stay-in, but the blur me did not realise that it was a joke, and I chose NSDC.
