Can anyone tell me if i have to do bmt twice if im up pes after i have completed my bmt ?
im currently pes c9l3 for 6 months upon enlistment
I just got posted to HQ CDO as a SUPP ASST(GE)(TRAINEE) and have to report to Hendon Camp, BLK 10, Room #02-09.
I've been hearing that at Hendon Camp, even the storemen are stay-out. Anyone has any idea whether its a stay-in or stay-out vocation?

EIPsyCongroo, I quote from darthduckie of HWZ:
Training wise, you will be attending a driving package which lasts about 5 weeks++ which comes in 2 phases, the driving and the maintenance. For now AFV OPR is limited to BX and Bronco. Unless you have the word leopard in your posting.
First 2 to 3 days will be theory followed by 2 weeks of outfield
driving, nope no field camps or any crap. Just purely driving. But will
be boring cos its literally sand and forest you will see and you will
have nothing to do while waiting for your turn to drive. maintenance
phase will be relac. Instructors will teach you on operator level
maintenance such as checking oil, track and suspension system etc. there
will be ALOT of rest time.
But enjoy your training phase. its very slack
PolkaWillNeverDie, thanks for your advice, it has given a very clear and optimistic vision on my future NS days. Thanks again.

Hey I'm posted to Gombak Base as a Driver (Trainee), I would like to ask what formation patch will I be wearing? The Transport patch or the Air Force patch?
And is Gombak base going to be my pernament camp and is it a stay in unit?

Gombak? It'll be your last camp, but i think u still need to go kaki bukit to learn how to drive. Gombak I would think most drivers stay out.
If you're driving officers btw CPT and COL, expect irregular hours. They live to wayang.

Hi PolkaWillNeverDie, AFV Opr basically just stands for Armour Fighting Vehicle Operator, which is the driver. You will just work together with your VC (vehicle commander) to bring your section around in the vehicle for their mission. 1st year will be just section/platoon and company training, 2nd year onwards will be battalion training and then ATEC, together with your standby duties.
There are only 3 armour camps, and kranji is the best cos it is the nearest to the MRT station!! And the 41SAR mess food is nice! haha

Thanks Jinghui. Future AFV operators and I appreciate your reply!
Didn't know RSAF conducts BMT at PLAB too...
STOMPer NSman was stunned to hear that the parents of
the recent graduating batch of National Service recruits each had to pay
$2.50 to attend the Passing-Out Parade (POP) held at Paya Lebar
Airbase.
The POP marks the end of a recruit's time in Basic
Military Training (BMT). Although seating is limited to immediate
family, attendance prior to this has always been free of charge.
Ms Ng Beng Choo, the parent of a graduating NSman, wrote:
"My
son's passing out ceremony at Paya Lebar Airbase on Monday was
well-organised with video presentations, which gave parents glimpses
into their sons' National Service experience.
"I was impressed
until my son told me he had to pay $2.50 for my attendance, as did his
peers for their parents, at $2.50 per head.
"Parents sacrificed
by offering two years of their sons' lives to serve the nation and yet
the Ministry of Defence is unable to allocate a tiny sum for the light
refreshments. Is our support for our sons' National Service not worth
more than $2.50?"
