About guard duty: before live range, you'll not be considered "weapon trained" so you walk around with the rattan shield and baton. After live range you will draw out live ammo and the rifle and send arms the following day upon completion of your duty. Don't worry about the details, you will be briefed by the Guard Comd.

u mean erm..lets sae guard duty finish one night so u keep ur weapon till next morning then return? if so..is it return b4 breakfast or after?

Guard duty in Tekong starts in the evening and ends the next morning. You'll have some rest after that; sending of arms is prior to that rest.

erm..so field pack stuff muz be always ready meaning we haf prepared everything inside fieldpack? same for sbo inside everything ready so juz pack one time and leave it standby? -

Don't pack your fieldpack cause FBO is only needed for route marches and when you go outfield. I'm sure you don't want to unpack it for every book out. LBV up to you, don't really need to do much, save emptying it for SOC. -

2) If we can onli put certain stuff in our locker, then where we put the rest?
3) How to bring our id card along when we go for pt?
4) Do we have to wash uniform/boots straightaway after field camp or we can bring home to wash such that normally it ends on a book out day? -

Let's assume standby means 'ready for war'. So "everything" will be there.
Do you want to carry "everything" everytime you go for exercise? Of course if you want, your superiors won't stop you. They might even give you best soldier award. -

1. Depends on your unit. Wearing CV clothes in and out of camp is a priviledge.
2. Let me ask you. If you have a porno VCD, where do you hide it?

4. Do you want to stuff your dirty boots in your bag or you want to wear the dirty pair when you book out? -
SAF is a place where common sense should be practised.

2. standby bed/area is different from standby field pack/sbo. This is where common sense comes in. The reasons for the two standbys are different.
Standby bed/area is because they want to ensure cleaniness of the area and that you maintain your personal hygiene. Which is why you have to layout some standard items like toothbrush and shaver.
Standby field pack/sbo is because they want to ensure you have all the necessary items to go for exercise or war.
I hope this hints that field pack/sbo are not part of standby bed/area. They won't check your field pack/sbo items.
3. Last time in BMT take IPPT need to take card. Where to put it? Your pocket lor! Don't tell me your exercise shorts from primary school to JC/poly don't have pockets??
4. If they don't check, it is all up to you. Common sense mah. If they want to see two pairs of clean boots, you make sure you can produce two pairs when the time comes. -

depending on the PC/PS, they will tell you what is necessary for standby bed. all other extras, juz keep them at home. similarly for the fieldpack and sbo.
btw, are you enlisted? if not, wait till you have and your future PC/PS can better brief you on these things.

who says only 2 sets of uniform allowed in cupboard? you heard wrongly lah. what they want is 2 sets of uniform to be shown, meaning they are to be hung. the rest you fold and still put in cupboard.
the standby sbo very heavy. don't think you want to carry it. I've seen some units hanging the small spade behind the sbo .. you want to carry that everytime?? common sense mah .. do you want to bring your DUMMY magazine and grenade to guard duty? -

2- bmt u just put everything else in drawer, drawer no nid stand by
