confinement is staying in camp n not being allowed to book out even if it's weekends. that's confinement.
if u pass ptp by 2 weeks, u r still required to stay in.
however, u can book out n go home after 2 weeks.
during the final 2 weeks u still join in as per normal training.
ptp is not bmt where outfield n nite training comes into place.
thus ptp does not have nite training, so recruits have more free time at nite.
i hope u feel relieved so far from all the assuring answers from the forumites here, bmt is not a hellhole as u tink it is. bmt is juz a transition for u to get used to military life. the real fun starts in unit where u get trained like a real soldier.

and for the checkup part, if during the eyesight test my eyesight got some prob then will the MO refer me to optometrist? -

question 1: YES... do u think that if pass IPPT within 2 weeks, u can relax? You still have to take IPPT again later on.. So no matter what, they will still train you during the balance TWO WEEKS. So even, if u pass, still have to do PT lessons etc for the balance two weeks. Question 2: what do u mean by eyesight not good? are u wearing spec? or are u talking about some eyes problem? If eyesight not good, they will ask u go make spec. If eyes are having problem, then need to go see specialist.
If your eye sight not good and dun bother to go make spectacles, you will suffer during shooting in BMT, and you will be f*** upside down if you cant aim properly or go shoot other ppl's target. -

eh dude, RELAX LAH..
so kancheong for what you haven't even went for the medical checkup your enlistment still far..
i enlisting in 2 days' time and i also not as kancheong as you.. they don't expect you to KNOW EVERYTHING before whatever, checkup, enlistment, booking out etc. when it comes, they'll tell you what to do!
everyone else also will go through the same thing.. as long as you follow instructions, no need to be afraid!
as for your question about the eyesight test, i dont know if you have to go back, so if you're really sure you're short sighted or anything just go and see an optician and make specs before you go for the checkup lah!
edit: the documentation you have to do, as one part is for you to write down any pre-existing medical conditions, allergy(s) etc. this is required for the checkup. for the other parts, you are also required to do since you have to take measurements for your shoe, sandals, uniform, helmet, jockey cap etc. so that uniform fitting will be smooth and fast on enlistment day, you dont want to wait and wait and search for hours until you can find a fitting uniform on the day itself right? also you have to give them your bank account so they can give you your allowance what. nowadays they make all these for you to do online so it'll be more convenient and efficient you still complain so much for what..

They will come and find you if you don't turn up. (I'm not being sacarstic. Probably call you. NOTHING bad will happen... no arrest, no MP come to your house, nothing.

nope, they won't print,and send to you. you could go to a friend's house(that have internet connection) then ask to use.(before that, ask if he has a working printer.) no need to print in color. just normal black and white will do.
it's about 3 pages long...just remember to fill it in before you print...and bring it to CMPB on the day of checkup....

No, they won't send you.
