I beg to differ, won't it be a "bigger waste" for regulars who just commissioned (from OCS) to serve their PC tour in BMTC? Most regulars will serve their school tour as OCs. Btw, no offense to any 2LT or LTA who were posted to BMTC after commissioning, they are not exactly the "cream of the crop" per say (Based on their ranking during OCS days at least). You guys may not agreed but that's what i gathered during my days in the mid-ninties. -
80% of those commissioned and sent to BMTC were among the lowest in the ranking and peer evaluation exercise. Not just for my batch but 3 batches before me as far as i know

Dun think its that bad to be posted to BMTC. You're still judged to be good enough to handle recruits. Imagine those posted to HQ NCC, fit enough to only handle kids?
Anyway, most NSF officers hoping for more "senang" postings so since BMTC already quite senang and they can act like big fugs somemore. What better deal is there? -

everywhere u go u will hear 'good morning/afternoon sir here n there' or 'platoon tiam!' etc..

BMTC got ISO 9001 9002 9011 9003 dunno which one
paperwork more impt leh haha

or the specialist do more

if i understand correctly, the 3SGs and LTAs from BMTC will server their reserve service in PDF units, 2nd-line units also. -
Hey I was a BMTC spec who did some time in a combat unit... totally different cultures I must tell you.
I prefered being a unit spec... the office politics in BMTC, as well as the job scope (where you really bao ka liao) are a killer. I'd take the tighter, more gum with your men and relevant jobscope of unit anytime man.
But no, it's not a waste to send NSF 2LTs to BMTC, they get the job done... most of them anyway.
All I can say is that BMTC is a mixed bag... yes as an NSF commander there you are the king of Tekong but at the same time in many other areas the life is actually worse then being a unit spec. The whole BMTC feel for the commanders is extremely isolating, and you have far fewer close friends then you would get in unit.
Not to mention while recruits might respect you, you have to clean their backside and run daycare for them... made me pine for the days where I was doing some real chiong suah in unit instead of the SITtest and field camp wayang. -
