hmm most of ur suggestions seem to be gd but increasing wages is a problem... the nid to increase the wages to motivate the men is there, but the increase in wages doesn't make it seem like a gd investment due to NSF days being just 2yrs

- Review the way ranks are given out. From lowest private to highest general. As mentioned earlier, a scholar does not equal to great soldier/leader. And how many of us have seen LCPs section 21/cs that are great section 2 i/cs but have men under them that are CPLs because the posted in from other units but are blur as sotong but are CPLs because they have A levels or diplomas? I think even O level holders can make good officers.
- Raise the issue of procuring weopons because they are the best available in the market at their cost versus developing a inferior weopon just because we need to develop a military industry.
- Ensure all service people have some of level of fitness. It's embarrassing when you see over-weight regulars - male and female.
- Look at programs that can create more pride in the military for NS and regulars.
- Lead by example. -

CDF -- I would establish 2 platoons of SAF active combat regulars. 1st platoon are specialist. 2nd platoon are active combat regulars officer. Send them to peace keeping mission for 1 year. ok, wat i may do may actually waste more of the taxpayer's money but it will be worth it if we can have a highly motivated army to defend singapore and help raise singapore's profile as a nation that has both the heart and brawn -
