How to Fold a Smart No.4 Uniform Up Properly to Look Smart?

u know, some people is cpl or lcp, but they fold their smart 4 so high up, then u can only see the round part of their cpl/lcp rank, then cant tell whether r they cpl or lcp...
why some people fold their smart 4 such that part of their lcp/cpl/3sg rank is hidden? while some people fold it such that the entire rank can be seen...
so which is the correct way or more recommended? show full rank or show partial rank? so which do u practice?
then regarding those regulars, same thing, some fold their smart 4 until only the tip of their 1sg/ssg can be seen. then u dunno whether to address them as sergeant or staff when u see them.
while some enciks fold them low low so that the entire gigantic SSG or MSG rank can be seen....
so which is the correct way of folding smart 4 for the SSG/MSG rank? -
maybe more muscles to show off??? for young NSF compare to enciks??????

i think some dont want to let others know their REAL rank...
or they never learn how to fold their number 4 in a proper way..

If they have short arms, no choice. I know one MSG who is quite short, and have short arms, so how ?
If he follows the rules of spacing and then sew his rank. He then folds it such that the full rank is shown. The end of the sleeves will reach below his elbow.
Maybe, they should have promoted him to Warrant Officer, so he will have no problems.

i did mine too, its normal mah. they say the folding must touch the lower part of the rank, so i do lor

promoting authority is the formation HQ's chief clerk, not the chief clerk at battalion/brigade level. -
The best solution to this problem is to change all ranks to appear on the shoulder, just like the Police and SCDF.

To put all the ranks on the shoulder is stupid !! Don't do that, its against international norms.
Imagine sending SAF soldiers overseas. Everyone will look like officer from a distance. It will confuse the foreign counterparts.
I don't know who is the highly paid jokers who suggested and approved this. Yes, it makes easy to change ranks after quick successive promotions, but it has its problems, especially when overseas. -

Which way is your fingers measured ?
If 4 fingers from the shoulder, the upper part of the folded sleeves is probably covering a little bit of the formation sign already.
I don't have the exact measurement, but there is about :
1 finger spacing from the shoulder to the top of the formation sign.
3-4 fingers is the size of the formation sign.
1 finger spacing down to the top of the rank.
2 fingers is the size of Lance Corporal rank insignia
6 fingers is the size of Master Sergeant rank insignia
So, if according to your measurement, when a PTE stand side-by-side with a MSG, it would be wrong.
With the limited length of an arm, it should be acceptable to cover the lower portion of the rank when the sleeves are folded up. -

AFAIK, recruits nowadays are being taught to have the bottom of sleeve four fingers up from the elbow crease. This is better to cater for individuals. Fat, thin, long, short. lets say a nsman already processed out of ICT.. and he didnt have those tags... still liable to be booked? -

IMHO, it's stupid. The fella who crafted this policy didn't take into account that tech specs play an important role in a battalion orbat, and they require their 3SG rank to carry out certain duties without being hindered.
I don't believe a CFC can sign for a weapon fit-for-firing cert. -
