he was jailed when he was 19 , 7 years come out cos he studied in jail and get A levels .
stole again and was caught .

my family lastime also gt 1 ppl caught in gang fite and was jailed for a few years , also never go in . ( 1970s )
lastime gang fight is common ,

actually nt all jailbirds no nid to go army..if they are not convicted more than 5yrs and 6 strokes of the cane, they still have to go army..i have friends still goes to army after releasing from prison..

my family that 1 involved in gangfight is 7 years , but those type of ah beng , u let them in , wait even the superior also beat up .

u r liable for NS until 40 .
if u default NS and come back in 35 years old maybe they jail u or fine u first then let u serve a while .
serve ail 3 years , 38 nia , let u serve 2 years as pes E clerk . ( too old for other pes grading )
because some ppl r nt enlisted because of medical problems , some r due to security and like criminal record . -

NS is liable until 40 , gt ppl 22 then go de .
most ppl who went to prison for serious crimes r nt enlisted because of security reason .
same as those ppl who was jailed but could nt find a job . -
