different race get different treatment?

Hello
I am half Singaporean, half Japanese and i was wondering if i would get treated differently when i got for my ns. Differently can be both good
and bad.
I also don't speak singlish, or chinese or malay, or hokkien, just proper english. would i get discriminated?
Please share your experiences

I had a Japanese platoon mate in BMT, he had not much trouble fitting in.

Same ....Not matter what race...Cos unless you are white and run fast on a race track...If not welcome to the party of NSFs....Normal Singapore Force....If they treat u differently...Then you must be heck of a guy....To allay your fears,remember not matter what race you are you are serving Singapore...So..remember serve wit your heart....keke and hopefully soul...which i did not...

if u speak with an accent, u will most properly get arrowed to be IC. like 1 of my unit's sergeants, grew up in australia and speaks with an aussie accent. told us he got arrowed to be IC most of the time.
not that it's a bad thing really. just need to memorise the commands which u can find on the 1st page of the BMT thread.

and i also want to be commando but ocs/sispec and commando means training for almost 2 years right. AHHH.
Also, my dad's work sent him to japan so i go to the american school in japan. And while I was in singapore i went to the american school, would that be a problem? (in short, i have never been to local school) -

IC = In charge, it's a rotated duty taken up in basic training, some of you guys will take turns to be the platoon IC.
Don't worry about OCS/SISPEC yet. Focus on basic training first. In any case, OCS is a 8mth course, and SISPEC is similar in length.
And yeap, try to mix around your bunk mates and learn all sorts of local lingo, it will help a lot

oh so different people get rotated to be in charge of platoon during bmt but the real guy that is in charge is still looking over your shoulder?
