Singapore's Air Force has deployed another KC-135 tanker aircraft detachment to the Gulf.
The SAF's Chief of Defence Force, Major-General Desmond Kuek was at Changi Air Base on Wednesday morning to send off the team.
The Defence Ministry says this is Singapore's latest contribution to support the multinational reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The KC-135 detachment will conduct air-to-air refuelling missions during its three-month deployment.
Since 2003, the SAF has made deployments of Landing Ships Tank, KC-135 tankers and a C-130 aircraft to the Gulf. -
Chey... I thought they are going to use it to ferry fuel back to Singapore...

SAF deploys tanker aircraft to the Gulf for reconstruction efforts
SINGAPORE: The Republic of Singapore Air Force deployed the KC-135 tanker aircraft detachment to the Gulf on Wednesday.
This is part of Singapore's support of the multi-national reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Chief of Defence Force Major-General Desmond Quek was at Changi Air Base during the send-off on Wednesday morning.
The KC-135 aircraft will conduct air-to-air refuelling missions during its three-month deployment.
This is the SAF's third deployment of KC-135 tankers to the Gulf.

The USAF Air Components usually stage out of UAE or Qatar. Qatar is the command center for USCENTCOM task forces in the Gulf. Bahrain is mainly RAF.
Three main USAF bases , Al-Udeid in Qatar, Ali Al Salem in Kuwait and Al-Dhafra in the UAE. However, not sure if our boys will stage with them, or with the Multi-National Force in Balad or Kirkuk. -

SAF's tanker aircraft back from Gulf after 3-month mission
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Armed Forces KC-135 tanker aircraft has returned to Singapore after completing its three-month mission in the Gulf.
The deployment was part of Singapore's continuing contributions to the multinational reconstruction efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
During its deployment, the KC-135 detachment conducted air-to-air refuelling missions in support of the multinational forces.
Chief of Air Force Major-General Ng Chee Khern welcomed the crew home on Monday at the Changi Air Base.
This is the fourth time the SAF has sent its KC-135 tanker aircraft to help with the multinational reconstruction efforts in the Gulf.
