Sewing of ranks/badges/tags on No. 4 uniform

Dear Forumers,
I knew last time during my NSF days, I heard many serviceman usually go to Beach Road to get the sewing of ranks/name-tags done. During my NSF days, I sewed everything myself but now with all the many tags/badges coming up, I thought I should do it 'externally'.
May I ask:-
1- If don't intend to do the sewing oneself, where do you normally go to get your name-tags/No. 4 ranks/'SINGAPORE' tag sewed for No. 4 uniforms?
2- Is Beach Road still the place that we can get the sewings and the purchasings of items (other than SAF-eMARTs) done?
3- Are those shops still there or have they moved?
4- Any good recommendations in terms of price, waiting time, etc?
5- The SINGAPORE tag and those formation/collar tags, are they issue by the unit when NSman report for their 1st ICT or should the NSman buy it and sew them on before ICT?
The problem is I do not know under which formation is my unit? How?
6- Do I leave out the formation and collar tags first? What about the 'SINGAPORE' tag? Must NSman get it befor-ehand and sew it on or are the 'SINGAPORE' tags also issued by unit?
7- I don't have the F.B.O. (i.e. the helmet, webbing (2G-type with pouch behind) and full-pack), it was returned when I ORD 11 years ago from NSF. Is the F.B.O. issued by unit also now?
I don't suppose the helmet and webbing (either 2G or 3G one) is for sale in the SAF-eMARTs, right? Credits allocated won't be enough also.
Please advise above 7.
I asked because my (first) reservist is coming up (after 11 long years
) and I thought it is time to get these things done.

Depends which unit you are posted to lah...
The formation, arms and Singapore badges and tags are issued from your unit... -
last i heard...beach road army market is closed for some renovations. but i'm not very sure of the current status.
To me, beach road is still the best to get your stuff done, although there are many 'army-stuff' shops around.
Sewing etc you should only expect to pay 1-3 dollars, depending on size and nature of badge. Rank is a bit more ex. ( only for WOSEs)
All 'SINGAPORE' badge, formation and vocation badges will be issued to you during your ICT. You should not be asked to purchase them before ICT. Having said that, it is still advisable to ask your unit regarding this. -
is there any other places to get yr rank sewn? how about the normal sewing shops?

1- When was the last time you heard that Beach Road Army Market (BRAM) was closed for renovation?
2- Is the renovation still in-progress or has it completed?
3- Does the unit issue the F.B.O. to newbies NSman like me or must buy from SAF-eMart?
4- Does anyone know BRAM status or where you all normally go besides/other than BRAM?
Could you advise on my above queries?

You 11 years ago ORD till now then call up for 1st ICT? Good luck to you. 
A the market already renovated and re-open for business dun know how many donkey years liao. You can go there take a look. Dun bother to compare the price there coz all the sewing same price. Be prepare for long-q on a sunday. -

check with them on their pricing and brief them on how u want it sewed. -
maybe i've mistaken? I went there 2 months back... looked like they were renovating the place? haha. IIRC there's also a thread on closure of Beach Road Army Market leh...not too long ago.
In any case for FBO... you need to consult your unit. Each unit's policy is different. I'm sure if you explain to them, they will help you get a new set.

the singapore tag/formation/arms badge ur unit will issue.
i'm in the department of takin care of ICT so i get to see alot of NSMAN...
my officers will usually say by the nxt ICT the tags must be on.
my friends(active Storeman) told me dat they issue SBO, i'm not so sure abt FBO. i don't rmb seein anyone wearin Civilian when they come back for ICT. it is also recorded that u did return ur barang barangs if i'm not wrong. their store always have water bottle, helmut, sbo, uniform, etc...

just make sure u have a set of no. 4 n fold it to smart 4 when u register for ICT.

any shop that provides tailoring services or some e-marts in certain camps do provide sewing services.

Sorry, may I ask why are you not interested to sew this time round? I mean, if the quality you sew is good, why go for others'? It's like so troublesome for you to travel around and forking out money..

no fbo, call ns portal. tell them yr story and say u would like unit to issue u fbo again if possible. for patches, when go back ict they will get emart to sew for u. pay $

i also dun have FBO before my first ICT. They will ask u go for some half day briefing before your first ICT.. Then they will ask who dun have this and that.. just give your name. Then in my case, they called us up to collect the FBO several weeks before my ICT. but there are still some who go back to first ICT without any FBO and the CQ have to arrange to issue again..
Some even went back in Civilians, say that their uniform too small liao. cant wear anymore..
for the singapore tag and new badges, dun need to bother now.. in my last ICT (last august), they say that they will issue to us when we come back for next ICT which is next year.. Name tags also.. So no need to bother to go do yourself.. just wait till they give loh.. reservist not so on lah.. -
yeah beach road's still the place.
parts of the webbing can be bought at the eMART i think but u can't get the skeleton...
and omg they called u back for reservist after 11 years O_O i'd cry if that were to happen to me. -

No time to sew them myself, am so busy with work. I probably get my name-tags and ranks sew at the e-MARTs. I had called up unit and am told that they will check my records for personal-equipment issue. Last time, under the old system, all items have to be returned.
Am I glad for the info provided, and am I 'happy' that I have to go back after 11 years . -
those dun have sbo or helmet, why dun borrow from brother, cousins or friends? borrow liao then when ict finish return to them lor....

note that "Name Tags" are not given to u by the unit...
they will ask u to go n do it urself...
either emart or outside...
actually ict quite fun mah...
time off from work...
time off from family...
time off from concrete jungle...
if u realised...
somethings u cn do in outfield but u can't do in Civilian life...
so...
shld enjoy the ict...
