Pay increase for regulars?

As you all know, civil servants pay is going to go up. As for SAF, heard alot of rumours, but dont know which is real...
1. Pay increase only for Officers/Warrant Officers. Short-term contract regulars (CS MIL) no increase. If this is real, it's damn effed up.
2. A one-off bonus of one month's pay for CS MIL contract soldiers, but none for regular enlistees (men)
Does anyone know the truth? -

i think combat has a pay revision.
service don't have.
i remember my colleague b|tching about his friends in combat getting even more now. -
i dunno abt SAF.. but the home teams senior officers will be given 30% pay raise...

Don't worry, everyone will get a share. Now, they will say that the civil service is lagging behind, so increase pay, then they will say that they need to attract more nurses, so need to increase pay, otherwise nobody takes the job. Then, there will be the teachers, because nobody wants to have this noble profession because they are not paid more than other less noble profession. MINDEF / MHA will come and say that all along, uniformed groups are paid 20% premium above the rest, so will need adjustment.
This will take a lot of talent away from the private sector, and therefore the private sector salary increases. Then it will be back to the civil service and they must increase pay to attract talents slipping to the private sector. This is a vicous circle.
With a little more money for everyone, people will start committing in houses, then the housing price will increase.
When the private sector decides that they need to contain costs, they will move their operations to a less costly country, people get retrench, and then housing will spiral downwards.

u mean SAF did not produce an official document to show the change in pay or the provision for one off bonus for all regulars?
Maybe you guys can go check the intranet...haha...
In any case i feel it's quite f-ed up... one off bonus is really not alot... like 'here's your money don't disturb me...and don't 4get to vote for me' kinda plan.
But it's really the case for most junior civil servants...all getting higher annual salary, but not higher monthly salary. -

but ur PB must be 0.5 or more..
( those who PB get better "grade" then other ..
get 1.25 ) actually who really get 1.25... no one know YET.
anyway.
take the 1 month pay increase as 100%.
see when the NEXT one month pay bonus.
let said is 2008 may.
then
ur yearly increasement is 100% / 12 = 8+%
if 2009.
then
100% / 24 = 4+%.
if 2010.
then is = 2+%..
as year goes by..
can ORD better.
anyway..
if want to increase pay..
as least make it fairer..
top person get so much..
bottom person..
not even a little little mini gram of a peanut..
no wonder top person can buy peanut at so high price. -

doesn't give me the motivation to join the civil service when I see the kind of wage discrimination they employ. The salary increment is meant for superscale officers, so in the SAF, it's LTC and above I guess.
The rest of us punks and punks-to-be would not get anything much. It's always been about those fellas up there. -
its already may...and no official news has been passed down to us...i really hope "they" won't just ask us men to "bite the bullet and bear with it" or "suck thumb" ....i suck my thumb until swollen already lah
