interesting! but firstly, who adapted it from the USMC creed and is this hence the "official" SAF version?Originally posted by sir sickolot II:This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace!
This was a version I had to memorise as a poor sod in SISPEC... because I was from a garang coy. Adapted from the USMC Rifle's Creed...It's nice to hear and all... but try reciting this during a shiong outfield day.. haahaa... First three lines were fine... then after that you kinda forget the lines....
Anyone also kenna this creed? Haha...
This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.I think the show JarHead had a more recent version of this creed but I think everyone loves it more in FMJ

Well the show is all about getting "Code Red-ed" and all the courtroom drama...Originally posted by sir sickolot II:Too bad 'A few good men' had no such creed... haha...
Like how my former BMT coy made us shout Hooah after falling out.Originally posted by sir sickolot II:wuming78... there is no official or even unofficial rifle creed in the SAF
some units or instructors may want to use this creed to perhaps make their platoon 'unique' or perhaps they were trying to simulate the USMC's culture?
FMJ and Jarhead are both movies about the Marine COrps.. so it's not surprising they included the rifle creed in the movie.
Too bad 'A few good men' had no such creed... haha...

SAF go "Huat Ah!"Originally posted by bendito.L:US Navy go"HOOYAH!" (most notably the SEALS)
USMC go "HOORAH!" (whereby the H is silent)
US Army go "HOOAH!" (or Hua as some say)
USAF go...??? (maybe some one can enlighten?)
this is just my little observation
