I think non-uniformed OK.
For uniformed, seems like difficult to be a 'recruit' at age 28. If he is General calibre, also difficult, because he has to be promoted faster than PM Lee and Defence Minister Teo. Otherwise, he can only reach COL, LTC rank, and has to retire at age 40, maybe 45. -

why not? i signed on when i was 26 - that set me back one year as compared to my peers. but well, for the career i am passionate about and willing to spend a lifetime in, what is one year? similarly i have met other mid-careerists who signed on even later than me.

but that means if someone signed on at age 28, and he was not an officer in his NS days... can he still be approved to go OCS and continue from there ( assuming he has a degree etc) -

I've even seen a revocated combat engineer get sent to OCS from hendon ... -
