SAF to take part in Exercise Cobra Gold in Pattaya

SINGAPORE : The Singapore Armed Forces, together with the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the US Pacific Command, the Japanese Self Defence Force and the Indonesian Armed Forces, will be participating in Exercise Cobra Gold 2007 from 8 to 18 May in Pattaya, Thailand.
This is a series of multilateral exercises focusing on peace support and non-combatant evacuation operations.
Six countries - Australia, China, Germany, France, Korea and Philippines - will also be observing the exercise.
A total of 72 men from the SAF will take part in the exercise - undertaking the role of staff planners.
In addition, 15 men from the SAF medical team will provide dental and medical services to the local population under the Medical Civil Assistance Programme of Cobra Gold 2007.
