5 working days or 6?

I know BMT is still 5 and the half working days. But what about unit life, excluding duties, exercises and etc? Is it 5 working days? Anyone who is serving NS can tell me?

but remember, once u handed in your pink IC, u are required to be on standby 24/7. that means come back to work no questions asked should the need arises.

your commanders should tell you very soon, in SAF there is no such thing as 8 to 5 or 5 day work week. even the directive states something like: "for defense purposes the government implemented 5 day workweek does not apply directly to NSmen"

I don't know why SCDF NS boys so good life. One 24-hr shift and then 2 days off. During the 24 hours shift, they get to sleep as well.
Seems like there is a huge disparity over the NS treatment. SCDF NS - 1 week - work 2 days, off 5 days. SAF NS - work 5 days, off 2 days. Like that when NS kena Army, sure curse and swear. -
there is no such thing as official hour in a War zone. So that basically answer all questions.

And we are not likely to go to war in a long time to come. We live peacefully, and practice peacetime procedures, such as going home, shopping and movies. We have an Army so we can enjoy peace. So what's the point of trying to living life in a warzone when we should be enjoying the peace we have created. -

Technically the SAF owns you 24/7. If you get to go home on Sat and Sundays, then its considered a privilege that they afford you. Also, if you ever get off in lieu becoz of your sat and sundays being burnt, it is also out of the kindness of their heart. What? Isn't this like slavery? Well, nobody said it wasn't.
Anyway, we have to give SCDF some credit. They are on standby to response to real situations. If anything happens, they have to be out there risking their lives. Thus they have to be well-rested.
I understand coz during my stint in NS, I also have periods of work 2days, off 2-3days as well coz I was on 24/7 duty. -
