any ex regular senior tech from RSAF?

hi im interested in signing on for the vocation. I would like to know from any pple or whom hv been a senior tech themselves more abt it. from wad i see n heard, i noe its very hard to get pp2 after ur service. therefore i would like to know if ur experience in the air force can be accounted for in those aviation or airline industries when u leave the air force. how much will the pay cut be? will it be alot, or very little?

you'll be given a COC - Certificate of Competence, which is recognised by SIA and some aviation companies.
you'll probably get 60-80% of what u were earning in the airforce, but with OT you will out earn your airforce pay easily. -

i rather get OT pay and concentrate on what i'm paid to do.
rather than get paid a little bit more which is still peanuts and multi-task. -

in SAF u get paid to do everything! yes EVERYTHING!

RSAF pays you a higher fixed income.
but you cannot clock OT pay and you have to do extra jobs other than your primary job.
in commercial aviation.
you are paid a lower fixed income.
but you clock OT pay and you concentrate on doing that job you're paid to do. -

in any case, i'm sure you'll earn back your 'loss' in no time... with overtime and promotion. Afterall, pay increase in SAF not very significant. -
but at least in saf u dun get much OT as compared to other companies. in private sector, u get OT almost everyday ranging up to min 12 hrs per day,7 days a wk.

if u prove ur worth it's not hard to get PP2... although actual figures are like 10% or so.

i heard tat u would be able to get the certified aircraft engineer's license if u pass the relevent exams during ur service. private sector dun see tis as some sort of qualification or experience meh?

the best is FAA, FCC paper...
but if u work in RSAF..think u won't really want to work in aviation line when u go out.. -

but if u plan to early release.
start to lo bo early. like yr 4.
after u get 1SG.
so that they see u cannot make it..
they sure let u go for early release one..
if u very good , hard working..
U opt for early release in yr 5...
they let u go in yr 7 or 8..
play cheap one..
by the time..
yr 6.. go out as 1sg get pay round $2700..
less cpf is $2300+
so when u go out..
if u get $2000 is normal...
If u want go aviation like SIA after air force.
u still need to go through 2 to 3 year of ON job training..
pay round $1800..
but after get qualification. engineering is
$3000 up..

then those who just after NS..
actually true in one sense is that the person after ORD.
is round 26 27 already..
of course want to settle down early.
that why will work harder to secure the job.. -

my friend get best air crew specialist..
but not offer PP2..

one of the reason is they want to draw down ACS..
let FE to take over ACS and DCC role..
so is not if u work hard u get PP2...
is depend on fate and ur officer one la...
now.. WO also scare of their rice bowl..
they can get golden handshake any time.
so instead of working on a/c.
they start til late to show face and concentrate on secondary appt..
wits.. USMS... etc..
the career talk all this said til make it a career in air force .. etc..
it not a career anymore .
now is just like a 10yrs contract like that.. -

i don't consider clocking day off as compensation, especially when they are able to deduct it. -
i heard OT is juz doing guard duty during "exercise" those kind of thing onli. if tats true then its a bit easy compared to private sec. take care of things onli.

but i am only a nsf tech
