Are Singapore army POW trained ?

Was watching ''Price Of Peace'' series yesterday , then saw the tourture method that was taught in history when i was in school
the scence saw yesterday was an anti-japanese soidier (yi yong jun) caught , he refuse to give away the location of other soldier hidout and was treated with different kind of tourturing tools. And after 10 days without food and tourture he finally gave up and surrender
Ok, main point here is , when we go army to train and handle equipment , are soldier trained in a way that if one day they become Prisoner Of War , and toutured , how far can they take it as not to let out military secrets ??
Im afriad most of them would surrender ever before any tourture tool was used -

If i am not wrong its called combat survival course right. And yes, the last time during the course someone did die. Think there is a thread about it smwhr. -

You better also worry if our soldiers are going to torture the enemy once they see their friends and mates die in battle.

Interesting you should mention this, because in war would a military commander care about the enemy? Having info could save his men or other fellow soldiers' lives. I had a similar interesting discussion with WOs once when I was in Army... and many people feel when you're at the point in time... to hell with the Geneva Code and what not, the lives of the men you lead are at stake.
lemme paint you this scenario, based on a movie about the 70's US-Viet COng War.
An American team split up along a mangrove, each led by a 2Lt. One group got ambushed and was under heavy fire. The other american group managed to capture the OC and runner of the VietCong unit. Do note the OC and runner surrendered, making them POWs
Hearing the gun fire from a distance, the 2Lt knows the OC can call off the ambush and save his other team. So he threatens the OC with a gun. The OC refused, and the 2LT killed the runner in cold blood.
Although the other team was brutally massacred... should the 2Lt have killed the runner, given the OC and runner both surrendered and were by the Geneva Code -POWs and to be free of all mil torture. -

Depends on the human morality of the person to how one will treat the others bah.
If other people play CB with you, of course its tit-for-tat lah. Its human nature. -

if war comes, like it or not, it'll be a dirty war of ethnic extermination for them, no quarters, no mercy will be given, so don't expect any .... the best you can expect is for it all to end quick if you get caught .... and (judging from reports from places like west papua, east timor and aceh), they'll behave like animals .... so save a last round for yourself .... -

We must train all SAF soldiers to like SM. So when they get captured, they would enjoy the torture imposed on to them by the enemy instead.

most interesting insight there... and i have to agree that we might really be the target of a 'genocide'.. to wipe us off the map should war occur. i don't want to discuss further, since it's very politically sensitive... but i still feel our soldiers got to be trained in POW-capture. watched price of peace like 10 years ago when it first aired. did not know they showing again becos i never watch tv anymore. what channel and when? it will give me a sense of nostalgia watching it ha
