Infantry Pioneer Course during ICT

WTH is this?
I'm going for my ICT in August this year..then this came in.
Can anybody here give me an idea what is this all about?
And does that mean i'll be away from my unit during the ICT while doing this course??

aiyah ... reservist liao, they won't make it too hard for you one ... and pioneers not that bad lah .... I've seen reservist kenna revocate to recce troopers before also ...

I Infanty spec, post to BMTC HQ, tio attached to SIW then sub-attached to SSC.
I am a slack spec. forgot all spec infantry skills liao. I only know how to shoot very well.

from my understanding, infantry pioneer are engineer-trained infantry, think 1 Bn have 1 platoon of infantry pioneer.
main task to overcome obstacles during advance, mainly mine field using PLC, etc and set up obstacles during defence, things like triple conc, 10 coils, etc.
from what i heard, aside from the course, the active infantry pioneer are usually sai kang warrior cos Bn Comd usually got no idea when to use them or how to deploy them..
please correct me if i'm wrong, heard this almost 10 years ago -

Something like that. Pioneer is like combat engine. -
Infantry pioneers are the breaching people (cut fence, clear minefields, etc) for an Inf Bn assault and lay mines during defense. Also during Bn river crossing they'll be tasked with setting up the crossing site.
Surveying and recce are left to the CSTs and Bn Scouts. -

hm u will most prob learn to breach and clear wire obstacles
something like field pioneers but not so in depth i think
infantry plus some engineer skills -
