What is the best way to be get posted to BMTC as an Infantry Officer , platoon commander of a platoon? I have speak to my OC abt it and he said I must have certain commitments in doing so. does he mean sign-on?

dun even think a pc at bmtc should be called a commander arh...more of an instructor...never once i respected mine...once go unit...see all the sart officers -

SO if you want to be posted to sunny Tekong, don't try to hard and you might just get it!
The rationale given is that you need more 'zai' officers in the active units to lead for ATEC, but then if we have poorer grade officers in BMTC, the starting mould of all recruits, isn't there something fundamentally wrong?

By commitments, he most probably meant that u will have 2 go back to Tekong, than to be in mainland spore. Most of the people can't wait to get out of Tekong and never return there since it makes them homesick, so i guess that's wat ur OC meant. Also. as compared to mainland, a Tekong PC will have more responsibilities. My BMT PC is an Infantry officer whom also won the best PT award during his OCS days ... He is damm gilat in the way he presented himself as an instructor in 7BTS. Well, "hopeless and CMI" ... not sure nowadays arrangement ... -
Based on my cohort and people i know from other cohorts, most posted to BMTC either did not fair "well" (relative to others) in OCS (lower ranking in cohort) or because their remaining NSF term is too short e.g. those crossed over from SISPEC or recourse personnel or did not fair well during their major appointments or "talk big and cannot work type".
The "questionable" cadets do not even get a chance to hold admin or exercise PC or Pl Sgt appointments during their cadet days.
I tend to agreed that most who did "well" (relative to others) in OCS are posted to combat units as PC, 2IC or staff officer i.e. Dy's S2 or 3. -
