Im enlisting in a few days time ( 15 june ) mono intake and feel abit sian yet excited.can anyone tell me wads a typical life of ns like and wad does 3sir do?i heard its urban warfare..but urban warfare = ? train to fight in urban area ?
Have to go jungle all tat? -
urban means using high tech equipments. one of the 1st to use 3G stuff.
trained in FIBUA = fighting in built up area. -

Silent and Effective!
First of all, I would like to welcome you to 3 SIR, home of the scorpions.
Basically, 3 SIR is an urban ops trial battalion, meaning, instead of feeding mosquitoes in the jungle, you get to feed mosquitoes in both jungle and urban environment. You get to use cool equipment too, but they look cool only. Once you put them on, or use them... Don't feel so cool liao
Anyway, you'll be enlisting into Bravo Coy. As for training wise, you'll be having your BMT first. After which, if you're still in 3 SIR, then you'll move on to AIT and stuff like that and move into full-time urban ops.
Don't worry la, this mono's CO not bad, just don't do anything stupid in there and you'll be fine -

juz wondering,i enlisting on tis friday.the letter state to bring the medical sumary tat was issue to me after my medical check up.I just notice tat its required to bring but i cant find the paper.i was wondering wad will happen if i forgot to bring something on the 1st day.
its possible to get post to other unit after bmt ah? -

@Vitasoys: The medical summary thingy, don't think its impt... They already have all your medical history on file. And yes, it is possible to post out after BMT, but the chances are very low -

welcome to selarang camp. though im not in 3 sir, but from somewhere else in the camp. 3sir is like a guinea pig unit for urban ops. get to see and test alot of interesting equipments. the people there are not bad, co looks kinda frenly too.

As for UO, you'll do full-time UO after BMT...
Training wise, can't really comment much. Since I was from Support Coy in 11th mono and HQ coy in 12th
Oh yah, you can get posted to support coy also (Scout Platoon, Mortar Platoon, ATGM Platoon and Pioneer Platoon) -
