Thats why i keep pushing interval training to people but they dont wanna listen.
Most people dont even have the correct biomechanics to run...
The treadmill screws up your gait biomechanics as well..
If you wanna run, run outdoors..

I have been to the gombak recreation centre recently. The air there is really stale.
I went to run on the treadmill for 3km, right after that i stride for 20mins. I frequent gym or swim or run twice a week so i thought there shouldnt be a problem but i ended up almost fainting.
I have to rest on the bench for more than 20mins before i muster enough strength to go out of the gym and rest there.

Dont even jog on treadmills in the first place!

Heart attack comes in many ways.
Topmost in most ppls mind is blocked arteries to the heart. That is correct. But there are other causes, too like - Viral infection. Congenital malformation (for the young) Spasm due to malnutrition
Therefore, for a healthy and fit person to suddenly keel over and die because of failure of the heart is not uncommon.
The arteries, and vein for that matter, deteriorates with age. As long as it holds, they function perfectly. So they escape the notice of doctors listening with stethoscope. But the arteries/veins are cracking up, like dried-up rubber hoses. They eventually crack open one day and leak. Usually when some stress is applied. That is also a heart attack. Some are lucky, and survive, some not.
There is no magic bullet against heart diseases, but an all round healty lifestyle. And even with that, you need a dose of good luck.

btw how is the Army's gym like?
I hope there are plenty of free weights like barbells and dumbbells and not overemphasis of machines only..
