Will DB affect you finding a job?

If a NSF went to db before, will there be a record which lets your employer check and know and than affect your chances of finding a job, just like how people who went to changi prison before have a criminal record and find it hard to find a job after that?

Yes it will be on record....
If you are joining govt firms, semi govt firms, MNCs, security firms.... it will definitely affect it....

my brother kena DB before for something that he was totally at fault
and on his certificate never mentioned about DB..just his newly allocated unit, rank..and common stuff -

not more than 7 days it'll wun be on ur COS. 34B will also indicate normal MILITARY OFFENCE under conduct. and then... it might affect ur chances a bit if u wan to join the govt service except stat boards.

even if the COS doesn't state your duration in DB or offence committed, your extended ORD date will be shown.

There are offences that are registrable...
Those like criminal offences found in the Penal Code or some other acts.
These offences will be reflected as a crimnial record.
AWOL and other military offences are not registrable and only reflect in your SAF Conduct Sheet.

civilain court (high court, suborinate court) is civilian.
don mixed up.
outside employers only asked for offences under civilian law.
govt job of cos will check since have govt is govt... have access. -

Yes, the police do keep a criminal register but, no, only certain employers (civil service, aviation, maritime, security) can ask them to help screen job applicants. Actually, I don't think a regular MNC have the power to do this, having heard of cases where overseas postings collapsed because the foreign country discovered so-&-so's background & then refused him entry!
As far as I know, only those with really serious military convictions will be recorded on the register. Not so much the length of the sentence, but in relation to the offenses committed under the Penal Code. You can google for the info yourself but, offhand, they pertain more to deeds like desertion, insubordination, assaulting a superior, mutiny, etc.
