After the simple fitness test, you'll come face to face with usually the manpower head..and you can sound off your health worries to him. He will be a reasonable person..
But having said that, 90% of the people in Cdos never regretted saying Yes to be part of the red family =) It'll run in you the moment you enter, and leave you on your deathbed
For Honour And Glory! =)
hey man.. what did u exactly did at VA and how long did everything took...
jimmy89: the pressure chamber is to test whether your body can handle the water pressure that comes with diving. I never went thru that, nor am i a diver, but from the name, can roughly guess :)
carzygoul: i went for mine in 2004, not sure about the content now, but mine took the whole afternoon back then.
general advice: just take it easy for the test, dun have to be number 1 for every segment/test, nor do you have to worry that you are not very fit, fitness can be trained :)

I doubt in 2 years time they will pick me for Commandos... sian.
Hey everyone. Does anyone know when are the commando intakes? heard there are 2? which mth are they?=) thanks
done the NDU VA.
very fun. go enjoy urselves.
Cld you describe what you did for the VA, and like what did they ask during the interview?
Are you going for the VA at NDU?
the schedule may differ but basically u do a barrage of pyscho and personality tests around 3 to 4 hour
then ur medical which consists of a visit to the MO, a few tests (yes they will take ur blood, i got pricked on both arms) and then a sit in the hyperbaric chamber for simulated dive test to see if u can clear the pressure.
then physical for chin up and SBJ and 25 m swim to gauge ur swimming technique.
Interview nothing much, they ask about ur uniform grp history, fitness and also anything u want to know about the unit and if u are interested.
Its an eye opener, u get to see things u prolly wont ever see again in ur life unless u enter NDU.
fun la trust me.
oh and lunch and dinner provided.
if everything goes well, it should take around 12 hours.
wee... done with CDO VA... quite fun... was any1 there today, 13 feb?
Whats asked during the psycho test?

hundreds of questions ranging from personality test to matrixes which equates to lots of shading on otas sheets.
dont worry, the questions dont need to use brain one. dont even need rough paper.

haha yeah commando's IQ test like damn easy also..
when u go for the VA its like a 50% chance of getting in,
if you clear ur medical etc its almost like 90%
and if u satisfy all of the above and state that you are highly interested in entering, its like as good as welcome to the unit already.
however there are people who indicate that they are not interested at all but cleared the medical, still go in.
