  So during NS, how to you get selected to get into Guards/ Commandos. Is it by random ?

  Well from what I know:

  Guards: Some will go in through the mono-intake (usually non diploma or A level holders) while the majority will be posted to Guards after tekong BMT, not exactly sure what the criteria is based upon but I suppose fitness plays a part (as Guards are pretty 'xiong')

  Commandos: Commandos is mono intake and they have their own BMT. You'd have to get a VA letter (they look at Security Clearance, MAPAS results, PES A/B etc) to go for an interview coupled with some physical and psychological tests. After that they will select the Commando enlistees from the VA pool. Apparently the chance of going from Tekong BMT to Commandos is close to or nil.

  Nope, just nil.  Regulars sometimes come in from other units, but not NSFs.

  Hey not sure if it is appropiate to post this here, but I heard that pre-enlistee who met the requirement for mono-intake will be assigned to NDU first and then subsequent ones to CDO. Is it true? not sure if my explanation is clear though.

  From what I know there was not any special thing about it. They just randomly post you around.

  Other than you being a white, grey and black horse, there is not any special selections. And some1 has claimed that it does not exist anymore now.

  My younger brother is a Pes A with no myopia, he get enlisted into SPF, and is later posted to be a welfare clerk at Chinatown.

  Some people who were wearing glasses also get into NDU, but were later OOC. There were a couple of sikh who wear turban also get into NDU but were also OOC. A few couple did not even when for the NDU VA selection, and was asked to ceritified fit for diving after their BMT. Some failed, and were also OOC.

  Another friend of mine who tried to fail everything in the VA for CDO, still get into CDO. He believed that CDO just wanted him to represent CDO for triathalon. And he was later being selected to be in SAFSA.

  So CMPB was pretty crewed up at posting.

  Sorry all, i was busy. i was from 2nd coy. Injured during one of the jumps and served the remaining few mths as a CQMS.

  it's not random. There are loads of factors if i'm not wrong they are ur CMPB tests, security clearance etc.

  yea I believe there is criteria and I think the 3 hr test taken at cmpb plays a critical role. and btw how do u get posted to safsa? Isit after BMT where u will be posted to safsa? can you go for the sports trial in ns by yourself or u will be selected based on ur accolades?

  Prehaps my English was really that bad. The three lines was a joined paragraph, please read together. I was telling this guy not to be so naive, and asked him to google for more information himself, and I was not giving more information this kind of military abuse matters, people not following the directives and safety issues. But certainly, he being such as smart boy could deduce the whereabout.

  The more you want me to shut up, the more I would not. If you are not happy asked the moderator to ban me. Else you can setup a thread on your own (just for commnando only) and fixed it else where. And this I had already mentioned it previously.

  There is some criteria here and there, to me, it is illusive. As far as I know, they try to post  every1 to the "correct" vocations according to what they can do. But there is always hiccup here and there. Sometimes, we request for Pes A/B personnels to be posted in our unit, but strangely some Pes C fill up the slots. I do not blame them, as when I issue out SAF100 myself, I also do recall back Pes E personnels which is not meant to be.

  how do u get posted to safsa? Different sports are different. Some sports have selection trials (just like in school). Some coaches might spot althletes. If you are in the scene, they will know you.

  Is it after BMT where u will be posted to safsa?You have your own vocation. SAFSA training is on top of your regular schedule. But SGT have to let your off for training. For example, my colleagues is a clinical medic, but he will go for water polo training here (like CCA)

  can you go for the sports trial in ns by yourself or u will be selected based on ur accolades? Both.

  H&G, there's no driving this guy away as long as schoolboys pop in here to ask questions.

  Do a search through this asshole's threads and you'll see a pattern where he hangs around gyms trying to pick up guys, and here in the forum he's trying to impress boys.

  The fact is that Lokey's a rabid faggot and he believes there's ripe pickings here, so he pops in here and lies through his teeth hoping to get into some little boy's pants.  Realistically, what are the chances of dealing with this kind of primal, unthinking drive by telling him to go away?  The only thing we can do is to continue proving what a shameless liar he is, and maybe having the occasional chuckle at his expense.

  And it is not a secret anyway, it is written in the recruit's handbook, you are fit for all vocations. So he will enter the pool for random selection for his group and peers.

  S.s.k. I have replied to you in reference to your previous posting. You are talking about if you are pre-selected for NDU prior to CDO. My answer is NO, it is random, at THIS stage (after the medical screening and other clearances) And that is why we can end up with turban wearer and mild myopia case in NDU (at my time).

  If you are talking about Regulars, then "Yes". If you can shoot they will "recommend" you to CDO, else dive. BUT depends of vacancies, they will might "recommend" you to either elite departments as a spec.
