If you perform badly inside, yes, you will be kicked out. By badly, I mean fail or screw something up, not borderline pass (e.g. Getting just pass for IPPT).
i didnt report. :/ i think im in for a treat. thanks for the info btw!

Hi, I'm a new to this forum, but I'll just go ahead with my questions. Pardon if they may be too general or have already been answered already.
1) How do you qualify for commandoes, guards or rangers?
2) What is this mono-intake system and how it actually works, and when does it begin?
Thanks in adv.

You get PES A or PES B and have your fingers crossed they choose you. Pass the VA for commandos. Pass selection and the two-month Ranger course for the tab. Singapore does not have a Ranger unit like the United States' 75th.
Last time have direct commandos BMT, nowadays still have or not ?

Qualify for Commandos, they will send you the VA letter which you will have to go and pass, in order to enlist into Commandos.
Qualify for Guards, they choose randomly I guess, I was in 3rd Guards'09-'11.
Rangers, I have not much ideas about it, just know there's some strict selection tests for them to clear before they can start the Ranger course. Mostly are from Commandos regular.
Mono-intake is for PES A/B pre-enlistee who didn't make it into Polytechnic before enlistment, they will be enlisted as men. Basically education matters.
Since selection is not voluntary, what happens to Commando trainees who pass the VA and begin the course but go Out Of Course?
Do they get posted out or recourse (and what happens if they OOC again), and what punishment do they get?
It depends on why they OOC and the severity of the reason. There's a fair chance of them being posted as support staff in PRC if they OOC, depending on vacancy and PES status. I see no reason why they would be punished for going OOC (assuming valid reasons).

PRC = ?, is that where they are posted until they recourse with the next batch?
I guess the real question is whether "failure to meet fitness standards" is a valid reason to escape punishment.
Pasir Ris Camp.
Anyway guys, Im interested in signing on as a diver. Im currently from the CDO. May I know how do they select officers from the batch and roughly how many in a batch will be officers? Thanks!
pls remove.
Is Pasir Ris Camp a commando camp like Hendon or is it a PES E camp where admin personne are posted? Been hearing conflicting things about it.
Getting in and out of Pasir Ris Camp is already a kind of punishment,
Pasir Ris Camp is home to the Commando Training Institute which conducts everything from the basic Commando BMT to two of the toughest courses in the SAF.
Hi hi. I Got my VA later for Hendon Camp *You know what it is. But I am not interested to be commando!! I wanna go through normal BMT like the rest. They said I can tell them I don't want. Will that confirm I wont get selected? And If I don't get selected. Will I be posted to normal BMT since I am a Poly Grad. And lets say "If" Touch wood I get selected. Will the people I will be training with be from diff education back ground. *E.g O level grad, ITE grad. JC...etc etc etc
Double post.

No, probably and why do you give a fuck?
You will most likely be with the Alpha Batch, made up of mostly JC students and some poly grads. Anyone know more about NDU and how many officers they choose per batch?

Well, in the batch of about 80~ people, only 4 will go to OCS for NSF aka not signing on. They are chosen largely based on daily performance which includes performance, attitude and leadership qualities. But there are other factors taken into account like peer appraisal and physical factors. If you're deem as a potential candidate for OCS, you'll be selected to be a 'Leader' in the dive phrase. If not selected, you've a 99% likelihood not being able to go OCS.

Hi S.s.k. When will intake for Alpha Batch be? Asking on behalf on my friend who also kana the same date for VA as me.
Hey can any commando/ex-commando bros out there share what is their reservice experience like? I heard they get called to reservice very often and need to be absent from their jobs more than reservists from other units. Is this true?
What happens if your fitness level drops after you complete the NS? Would reservice be hell then? Thanks guys

Hi, Alpha intake will be next year feb. most likely early feb as mine is 7th feb this year. Anw, if I am interested to sign on as a ndu officer, will i be given a chance to do so or i can only sign on a a ndu specs? and commando's ICT are shorter. if im not wrg, 6 for aplha batch, 8 for Bravo.
Its depends largely on your education qualifications. Hierarchy goes like this
Alevels -> Diploma -> Higher nitec -> Everything else. Bascially you need at least a diploma cert to be able to be selected for the officer course. but a A level grad will most prolly go OCS if he sign on.
u mean if im an a level grad, i dont need to go through any selection and i will go ocs straight?
