How fast is fast?

  A (sec school) senior got his LTC rank at age 32. A peer got his MAJ rank at 28.
  
  Is that the average rank progression for sign-on regulars? Is it possible to reach COL rank by 35?

  Lee Hsien Loong -- Brigadier General at the age of 32 (1984 when he retired. dunno when he was promoted to BG)
  
  Lee Hsien Yang -- Brigadier General before age 38 (at 38 he is the CEO of SingTel, therefore, this assumes after he retired, he immediately became the CEO)

  SAFOS holders can expect to be COL by 31/32 and BG/RADM by 34/35.
  
  This is considered the normal route for all saf overseas scholars.

  Similar for Superscale Grade for the Adminstrative Service.
