On Att B Light Duties Status whilst Pending Medical Board?

Take this scenario.
I just reported to my new unit after BMT. Then I go to the MO there, show him my downgrade letter. If he sends me to medical board, what do I go from now until the medical board?
From what I understand it might take quite awhile...do I still join in the rest for training or sit in coy office or what?

My guess is the MO will give you Attend-B, or a chit excusing certain field activities. He'll most likely include a set time period too, so you'll have to return & get it upgraded (until you get formally Boarded.)
If you're with a combat unit like I was, your CSM shall then make arrangements to temporarily attach you to the company CQ (basically following the rations truck). Becoming a mess boy at the Officer's Mess or NCO's Mess is also a possibility, if they need help & particularly if you're restricted to PT kit.
In reservist, it'll be as per normal. You're excused from IPPT & things like parade drills, but shall otherwise follow the unit out in the field. Once there, it's up to your mates to spread out the workload, with you handling the easier stuff or sitting it out altogether.

Clerks are only for PES E cases, unless they've changed the policy.
Going OOT is pretty serious, administrative-wise. You have do it step-by-step, in this case, getting your MO to certify you as medically unfit to continue your course. Then sit back & wait as the pencil-pushers decide how/where to re-deploy you. -

BTW what PES status did you downgrade to and what did you end up being posted out as after your downgrade was confirmed? -

Never got downgraded ~lol~ I did try for it during reservist (hypertension), but such cases seldom reach beyond the unit MO level. Everyone knew the main purpose is to siam IPPTs so, as long as it's credible on paper, you'll be excused accordingly. Near the end of my cycle, about a third of my unit personnel used to sit on the stadium benches "cheering on" during the fitness testings. Quite farcical, even though we're one of the top outfits in FATEP (field-exercise) scoring.
I don't think I was even sick, but just happened to be hyperstressed from work that day. Just manipulated the system, lah. Asked for medical board, was told to get treated outside & submit the reports, then acted blur -- "what report?" -- when called back for medical review. Each time, it'd be a new (& usually friendly) MO who only has the notes inside my docket for appraisal. Attend B/excuse IPPT-type chit issued, with verbal instructions on what to bring back for the next FFI. Repeat ad nauseum. Sometimes my unit didn't get the docket back for an ICT, so my regular MO would pass the buck again. Lo & behold, there'd be a surge of such "hardship" cases in time as my unit itself got older (& the training schedule got tighter & tighter, so much so the MO has to finish dealing with the reporting sick out in the field).
Dunno about active time, which was also quite a long time back in my case. Each unit, or rather medical center, has its own institutional culture. My own understanding is that, as much as possible, that command level is "encouraged" to solve its own "problems", before involving the higher-ups or elsewhere. Medical Boarding seeks a permanent PES downgrading, which usually entails re-vocationing & re-coursing. There were some serious injury cases in my time, one famous one involving a M113 explosion that left almost a full detachment of mortarmen incapacitated. But, as far as I knew, only one of the casualties was Boarded. Another became a mess boy, the other two Hokien peng followed the rations truck, while the two NCOs kept their combat status. In those days, formal downgrading would also involve an unwelcome cut in service pay (different vocations were paid differently then), which might have also contributed to my unit preferring to solve matters internally. -

For me I just finished BMT...going to show my specialists letter immediately when I report to new unit ie. 3 Guards. Don't tell me they might make me be a mess boy or follow rations truck for the remaining 1yr8months of my NSF life... -
Oh ya, btw, if I get temp downgrade for say, 6 mths, will I still stay in my unit?

u can request to the s1 manpower branch officer currently: cpt quek meng cher. he is a nice n understanding man, but to a certain high limit oso.
stay out must hv good valid reason e.g. family prob, really need u to be at home at night. BUT temp downgrade is sadly not.
But btw by 'stay in my unit' I meant whether I would get posted out of 3Guards if I got 6 mths temp downgrade... -

I was PES C under the old classification, or was it PES C1? (Don't have the L1/L2 business then.) Still posted to combat & than -- rather foolishly, thinking back -- rejected the "computer" posting assigned to me. Volunteered instead to carry a PRC-77 set for the FO & FSO. Heck, 1 SIR to 6 SIR, 1st GDS to 3rd GDS, Commando -- I've followed them all. 5 weeks jungle-training, too. Learnt my lesson in reservist, when I was reposted to a 155m BN & to compute firing data again. Mentally stressful but, as they say, "zay chia" or "sit vehicle."
You should've met my former S1 cell. All PES E, but still called back. Got air-con & PT-kit, but always stayed back the longest (in charge of inprocessing & outprocessing), must stay-in (sometimes "pack pencil" & join the "pack-frying pan" cooks out in field deployments) & also take turns doing duty clerk & stuff.
