ICT Deferment: Working, Then Come the SAF100 Notice, How?

I have a question about reservice and working.
I will be starting to work next monday and my reservice falls on 9th july. How does SAF know that by the time i'm doing reservice, i am already working and am no longer a student?
So that they can pay the correct amount for reservice time. -

anyway, FYI, either u or your HR will need to submit supporting docs with regards to your salary etc so that Mindef can compensate you accordingly. So once your claims are submitted, Mindef will know that you're no longer a student.... -
Yes, it is a new job but I would like to clear the reservice things out of the way quickly.

i just edited my initial reply. Speak to your HR and dept manager.. they should be able to advise you.

Also, is there a standard procedure to tell the company about having to go for reservice? Is it just a matter of telling the boss ? (My unit didnt send any letter for this year's reservice. Just a few sms'es but i've deleted them

Wow, you really sabo your employer! Start working only one week & then must go back for reservist? And your boss still don't know? Tell him ASAP.
Most likely, it's too late to apply for deferment now. I once saw a civilian boss coming into camp on reporting day & managed to persuade my CO face-to-face to release one of the men. (We were due to fly to ROC.) You can try your luck. Better yet, give your boss your unit phone number so he begin badgering them immediately.

Unless you want to earn only your NSF pay, you'll be filing such applications for the next 10 years or so, so read the details properly & know how the system works. -
hmm.... be honest here.... i don't think SAF informed you only yesterday right?? So far for all my reservist training, I will be informed at least 4-6 months in advance. Okie... go to www.ns.sg . From there, you can print out the SAF100 which you will need to give your boss a copy and another for you to bring in camp so that you can get past the guardroom.
