Just a simple fact that these useless men in blue, green and white are not wanted outside the real world.
They are plain useless with their limited experience.
So, they have to be adopted to the godmum's company and be nursed to old age without doing any real work so that they do not cause any damage.
These people are really the white elephant of the company.
Do no work, cannot prepare and put there to rot.
It is ok as there are a lot of these leeches spreaded in other godmum's company.

I won't be surprised if he already has a MBA on his resume, say, in Public Policy or Public Administation. Most staff officers would've studied for it at the LTC rank.

saf officers are made compulsory to leave saf by 45. and even parliament wants to increase the retirement age to like 65 across singapore due to aging population mah...? so must help help to pave the way for the "mindef/ saf scholars good golden years retirement scheme" having them to work in other public sector job in top posts.

i wonder why he did not joint ministry of defence? i think it would be an easier transition to civilian rather than a high profile organization that his years of profession in SAF has very little corelation to the new organization.
