gsoc is under G3 army
As to what it is... i'm not sure how much is classified.

gsoc is the general coordination command centre headquarters of the army. high in the army command organisational hiearachy table under chief of army... and thats all i can say.

GSOC stands for General Staff Operations Centre. It's one of them command/control entities that come under MINDEF control, I believe, rather than the SAF's. All the service branches -- Army, Navy, Air Force, PDF -- have such headquarters at the top of their hierarchy. As already posted, those working at that level are called G-3 staff.
Such structural definitions are quite common in many militaries:
Personnel = G-1 (or S-1 at the BN level)
Intelligence = G-2 (S-2)
Combat Ops = G-3 (S-3)
Logistics = G-4 (S-4)
There's also G-5 & G-6 at the staff-officer level, but no idea what they do. Beyond reading in the papers about so-&-so office-holder receiving a National Day Award, that is. -

G5 handles finance and planning. As for GSOC, I only know it as the place you have to call to when you are making secure line checks during ops room duty.

Thanks. I saw a note elsewhere online that said G-5 dealt with "plans" & G-6 with "training", & didn't know how much to believe it since one National Day Award list had SAFSA Secretarist under G6-Army.

G5 and G6 are for future plans and training doctrines if i'm not mistaken...
then again all these high level stuff doesn't interest me....

And when i asked my CO what GSOC is...
he said don't be surprised... it is just a room in Mindef that is only 3 x 4m big.
But ya, it's like the Ops Room of the SAF, like how the Ops room of your camp is.
but i seriously doubt the reliability of Signals manning. haah
whenever there is supposed to be Live Firing, we ended up GSM-ing the nearest camp Ops room to tell them to tell GSOC we are commencing life firing.
