  this year the president will not only inspect the GOH, he will inspect the rst of the contingents as well. in case u are wondering, he's doing it on the jeep, not on foot.

  Covered fireworks safety yesterday. Basically got stuck at One Raffles Quay the whole day.

  Traffic delays expected on Saturday due to NDP Preview

  SINGAPORE: The National Day Parade Preview will be held on Saturday, 28 July, and several roads will be closed to facilitate the event.
  
  From 8am to 11pm, Republic Boulevard and Raffles Avenue will be closed.
  
  Between 8am and noon, three lanes along Raffles Avenue will also be closed.
  
  From noon, Raffles Avenue and Temasek Avenue will be completely closed to traffic until 11pm.
  
  From 6pm to 11pm, part of Esplanade Drive will also not be accessible by vehicles.
  
  During the closure of Esplanade Drive, the flow of the carriageway towards Nicoll Highway will be reversed to allow motorists to travel from Nicoll Highway towards the city.
  
  Motorists from Collyer Quay heading towards Nicoll Highway will be diverted into Fullerton Road to avoid the traffic coming from Esplanade Drive.
  
  For traffic safety, during the fireworks display, stretches of the ECP at Benjamin Sheares Bridge will be closed between 7.15pm and 7.45pm.
  
  Motorists are advised against stopping along the Benjamin Sheares Bridge during the fireworks display.
  
  Traffic congestion is expected at the event venue and its peripheral roads.
  
  Motorists travelling along Nicoll Highway to Marina Square are advised to use Raffles Boulevard and avoid Republic Boulevard. - CNA/yy
