6 and 9 Div commander steps down

BG Ravinder Singh and BG Winston Toh have stepped down as commander of 6th Div and 9th Division/Chief Infantry Officer respectively.
i find that the change of commanders happens too fast don't u think? BG Ravinder Singh took over as commander of 6DIV only last year and BG Winston Toh took over 9th Division/Infantry in 2004.
unlike my lao ban, Chief Engineers Officer, COL Teo Jing Siong. he have been chief since 2003 and counting.

haha maybe? i initially thought col tung yu fai, previously ex hd nsad would take over. who knows he want GCC and became cgo.

The recent 6 div commanders are all high flyers and are en route to 'bigger' appointments.
BG Hugh Lim and BG Ravinder are on track for bigger appointments but must first clear their 'div comd' tour.
In any case although they held office for a short duration (1.5 years each), they have in their own capacity improved the operational readiness of the Div and her Bdes.
And i respect COL Teo for his experience and service to the continuity of fine traditions and great strides in improving the SCE -
i respect the current Chief of Army, BG Neo Kian Hong very very much. He was the Commander of 7SIB when I was serving there. After he came, he met up with every soldier, seek their feedback on how to improve their NS life and act upon them with immediate effect!
Eg. Last time, 7SIB is at kranji camp. Real long way to walk from the mrt to the camp. Very dark and dangerous especially at night when we have to book in on sunday nite. Those from the old Kranji Camp will understand.
Some soldiers asked whether can transport them from mrt to the camp on sun nite bookin. Very quickly, this was implemented! Hurray no need to walk from mrt to camp anymore during sun bookin! Then we moved to Bedok Camp II.
Besides, welfare like this, BG Neo seriously take the role on improving our unit fighting capability. Firstly, we have to improve our physical fitness. He implemented unit morning run. He leads by example and very very fast runner. Everyday without fail, he will lead the run and he really ran ahead of most of us. He is a man of action and wisdom!!!

Isn't it common to have some Officers posted out fast especially if they are a rising star?
A few battalion COs only stayed around for less than a year just as a formality to meet the Battalion tour. Which is not good for the NSF battalion's morale as COs are meant to stay for the entire NSF's service.
COL Tay Chuan Jin was only 7SIB CO for 8 months if i am not wrong.. and he went to Joint after. -
