Maybe in the future, but not with this current SAR21 model.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:I'M GONNA FLAME YOU!!!!!!!!!
Just kidding.
But if you have to ask, yet the infantry will eventually need such stuff in the future battlefield. It makes little sense to go network centric on all your other assets when your most numerous (and intelligent) set of ears and eyes are unable to get that information into the network.
The thing is, such concepts and equipment are still in their infancy and hence first generation stuff tends to be heavy and somewhat less-then-pratical, but as technology improves it's going to change the way wars are fought.
Imagine your squad is pinned down under fire and unable to return fire, but you know where the enemy is. Instead of running the sarge and asking him to coms back to the PC, the most chao private in your squad can now pass the information right up the chain of command without having to go through multiple channels and request for fire support.
Imagine you know where each and every of your own dudes are at everytime, and your platoon can pull off complex movements and react extremely quickly to any change in the battlespace without all the shouting and confusion that often comes into battle.
So yes, such stuff isn't too ready yet... but there's a need for it.
Hmm, well maybe. Considering that they too wear red berets.Originally posted by chanjyj:If I'm not wrong, it's Police SOC
i'm quite certain they are police SOC. I rem the news release saying that the Police SOC are involved in the pre parade segment for this year's NDPOriginally posted by ouchtthurt:Hmm, well maybe. Considering that they too wear red berets.
There is a carbine variant of the SAR21.Originally posted by eagle:Is there a SAR21 replacement for carbine?
personally, i find that the police soc has no originality...why would they want to follow in the footsteps of the CDOs and have red as their beret color?Originally posted by ouchtthurt:Hmm, well maybe. Considering that they too wear red berets.

They are elite too lah. Dun condescend them like tt. Actually the red beret is a common symbol of the paratrooper, so it is used worldwide, and not only in Singapore.Originally posted by bendito.L:personally, i find that the police soc has no originality...why would they want to follow in the footsteps of the CDOs and have red as their beret color?
