Have you all encountered Regulars who love the army very much?
They go to camp very happily everyday, got no complains, love their job very much, hope that they can work in the army forever..? -

How about the female regulars?
If they don't love the army why did they even sign on. -

i had female bosses in the SAF.. and from what i gather, they are ok with the job, most are in it for the money and nope, i've not heard one that goes on w/o complaints. I personally find more cons than pros for a female to remain in the army, esp after marriage and family. -

Thus my comments are mainly for uniformed personnel
As for DXOs... i think they don't have that much regimentation, and it is comparable to office life in the 'outside' world... as such there's no need for a 'love of the army' and the constant drive to keep things going like during ops period, LRI, ATEC etc
I'm just generalising of course, but i don't think i'm too far from the truth -

They are garang simply just to show to their boss who is either the CO or BG -

My ex-RSM used to tell me about his relatives in Australia.

yea my rsm. Usually 6 days in camp, sometimes even 7 days u will see him in camp

If you say so, though I'm personally doubtful. With RSMs, we're talking about WOs who've been in the service for already 9 years or so, making about $3k to $5.5k (according to MINDEF website). At that stage, they're very much "lifers", to borrow a more-accurate American reference.
Unlike younger senior-NCOs, these old-timers would've had a settled personal life one way or another. They'll also know that they won't get the same remuneration & enpowerment outside in civilian life.
Plus, after years of saluting 19-year-old 2LTs, they can also see that their next promotion (eg. to 1WO, or to MWO) would get them into a staff-job posting or a OIC equivalent, & out of the frontline-unit life for good! ~lol~ -
Yes... last time my unit got 1 platoon sergeant posted over to be prepared for the next batch (we were going to ORD). He's super happy and on about army. Got once he even wear long 4, gloves, boots, draw one gun, wear camo net over face, wear jungle hat, then hide behind a small tree wait opposite our bunk area.
