  i have seen that the SG army uses this type of eyewear on some troops...(was on a pioneer mag cover IMHO)
  
  where can i get a pair?
  
  specifically, the sawfly with RX inserts.

  ya, i can confirm this is the glasses used by the poi trooper, 6 sir. I am not sure u can get it. Perhaps u can ask some 6 sir person, or try beach road. If i am not wrong, there is a big shop near suntec that sells all these type of gears, but rather expensive. Not really sure of it's exact address.

  I think that was the brand that competed with Oakley (unoffcially) for the ballistics test. The oakley specs totally disintegrated, while their only had bulletholes.

  Hmmm, the exact address is near the shaw plc that is juz directly opposite suntec city. It is in between that shaw plc n bugis.
  
  Think you can ask officers about the place. Most officers know about it cos it is the place that they go for to put their swords in casing. That place got quite alot of stuffs. They should sell the glasses u are looking for. Well, i am helping you ask my friend le, cos he is a officer from 6 sir and i have seen that type of glasses with him.

  Aiyah, Oakley salesman sometimes also screwed-up. He thinks that all Oakleys are Milspecs, and anyone who puts that on becomes Tom Cruise. Not all models have the same ballistic resistance grade, especially those you picked from the shop.
  
  Just look at the thickness of the polycarbonate lens and don't let anyone bluff you. Compare it to ESS, Wiley-X lens. I have seen demos of the sales guys bending the lens over without breaking. The technology to date does not allow for a thin lens to have high impact resistance, that's why helmet visor shields are so thick for better protection. It needs to be at least 2.XX mm (not so sure what is that magic number) to meet the prescribed military specifications.
  
  Also, Oakley is famous for its optical clarity, and the thicker the lens get, the visual clarity will reduce.
