Temasek also reported a 29 percent drop in net profit to S$9.1 billion ($6 billion) for its 2006/07 financial year from S$12.8 billion a year ago, on lower divestment gains and an impairment charge on Thai telecoms firm Shin Corp. , which lost one-third of its stock-market value in the period.
"The free flow of investment is important for economic growth," Ng Yat Chung, managing director of portfolio management at Temasek, told a briefing on Thursday.
"We would be concerned" about any move towards protectionism in the developed economies, he added.
Ng doesnt have experience.....Originally posted by Reveille:Ng Yat Chung read Mathematics at Cambridge and has a MBA from Stanford, before advanced management at Harvard recently. To say that he isn't qualified enough, you'd might as well say that Lee Hsien Loong isn't qualified to be Finance Minister as well.
Holding executive positions within the SAF for the last 20 years isn't experience enough? Well then, at least he has the intellectual ability to tide him through before you one day decide that he is experienced enough. We need talented people to run our country. He is one of them, and I think, rightly so he is put in such a position. Do you expect that the government would ask that a brilliant man, one they have nurtured over the last 20 years, leave the civil sector when he still has much to contribute?Originally posted by mhcampboy:Ng doesnt have experience.....
experience in lovemaking doesn't equates to experience in culinary.Originally posted by Reveille:Holding executive positions within the SAF for the last 20 years isn't experience enough?
